More details have come out concerning the arrest of golfer Scotty Scheffler prior to his starting tee time this morning. Arresting officer Barney Fife Jr. was quoted as saying "I don't play favorites". Several witnesses state that the confrontation could have become more serious as Fife attempted to discharge his firearm. Fortunately, his one bullet was in his breast pocket and it was a failed attempt.

Fortunately, his one bullet was in his breast pocket and it was a failed attempt. Yeah, Scheffler was so upset he went out and birdied the first hole and is now just two off the lead through ten. I don't know exactly what went on, but it sounds like at worst a bit of honest confusion and not something that called for handcuffs. Scheffler hardly seems like the troublemaking entitled type. And I never heard of a police report where the arresting officer listed "irreparable damage to his pants" as one of the misdeeds. |
