Just watching the dots but sounded like a cheap hit for Benintendi. It was a check swing.

Absolute garbage just like the White Sox's run yesterday. Clearance rack special. Tried to check his swing…

The stuff is fine, Flats. The command is not. At least so far. Change well low, 1-0 Change 3 inches below the knees, 2-0 Change dives just below the knees, but Trevino gets the call for him, 1-2. 0% on Gameday Same change a couple of inches to the left, swung on and missed, 2-2
Great sequencing! After 4 straight changes below the knees finally draws a swing from Lee on the 4th one, he burns a FB by him at the knees at 97 for the ꓘ. Inning over. Lee caught looking for another change, couldn't pull the trigger on the FB.
Bottom 1, 1-0 White Sox. 29 pitches for Gil in the first. He can't afford too many of those type of innings, even if he gave up just 1 run.

Lots of pitches, but tip the cap to Gil for minimizing the potential damage.

El Duque is in the house. He played for the White Sox too.

We missed you last night, Kaybli, so we issued a couple conspiracy theories in the game thread.

Volpe gets a FB up and in, 1-0 Slider misses the low outside corner by an inch or two, but he gets the call, 1-1 Same slider gets a swing and miss, 1-2 Change low/away, 2-2 Slider thigh high on the outer 3rd, hit high to medium deep center, Pham goes back, hauls it in. 1 down

El Duque is in the house. He played for the White Sox too. One of my favorite pitchers ever to watch negotiate a line up. Smart, crafty, and talented. No light too bright, no circumstance too big for El Duque.

Change low, 1-0 Change clips the outside corner, waist high, but Soto gets the Soto call. 2-0, but 20% on Gameday. Sinker waist high, outer 3rd, 2-1 Change misses low on the inside, 3-1 Sinker winds up right down the middle, and Soto hammers it out to right, solo HR ties the game at !!! I would say Soto's brief slump is now over.
