Torres gets a hanging change above the zone, inner 3rd, belts it to deep left toward the corner, hits the top of the wall, rebounds to Julks, but it's a double moving Rizzo to 3rd with 1 down.

Trevino takes a cutter high, and Maldonado turns a gives a look as if he expected a strike call. It missed by 2-3 inches high. FB backed onto the outside corner for a strike, which is why Torres spoiled the same pitch with 2 strikes in his at bat. FB up in the zone, outside corner, slapped out of Remillard reach, diving to his left, goes into right, both runners score, and the game is tied on Trevino's clutch 2 run single!!

Slick move by Trevino ... Points to 1B Ump on check swing and throws to 3rd to pick off runner who's looking at 1st base for the call That was a benchable moment for that base runner in the old days.

Berti misses a FB up in the zone, 0-1 Gets a break on a call as the curve gets a small piece of the low outside corner, not called, 1-1 Fouls off a cutter down the middle, 1-2 Chases a curve below the inner half and spoils. Curve down and in, pulled foul Gets a FB in the zone down and in, and takes it for the ꓘ, 2 down. No idea what he was looking for there.

ye old "answer back inning" Very good response, 3 hits, no HRs. Back to the top for Volpe.. Curve backs up way high. Throw over on Trevino. Cutter waist high, outside by 3-4 inches, Volpe tries to do the right thing, goes with it to right, but the fliner hangs up for Jimenez, who catches. Inning over. Top 3, 2-2 24 pitches in the 2nd for Flexen, 44 through 2. Also got Rodon some rest after his tough 2nd innings. Maldonado, then back to the top for Pham and Vaughn for the White Sox in the 3rd.

Backdoor slider catches a tiny sliver of the corner away, thigh high, called a strike, 0-1 FB to almost the exact same spot, 0-2 Slider on the back leg, Maldonado ignores, 1-2 FB hits the corner inside near the top, Rodon freezes, but doesn't get the call thi8s time. FB in the zone above middle, Maldonado hits it hard, but just got under it, a high fly to deep left, Verdugo goes back to his left, stops a few steps short of the track, catches, 1 down.

Change bounced over home, 1-0 FB inside corner above the waist, 1-1 Swings over the slider going well down and also in, 1-2 Backdoor change misses just outside and again Rodon freezes, but that wasn't a strike, 2-2 Slider well outside, 3-2 Change on the outside corner above the waist, and Pham gets under it, his high fly to medium left center is an easy play for Verdugo, 2 down.

Vaughn takes a FB for a strike, inside corner near the top. The 2nd pitch curve basically into the middle of the zone, but Vaughn rolls over on it to Volpe, who fields, sets and throws him out. inning over.
Good bounce back inning for Rodon, a 1-2-3 on 13 pitches, and 50 through 3.
Bottom 3, 2-2 Soto, Judge and Verdugo get their 2nd chance at Flexen.

And, finally:
In the NL West the Dodgers kept moving forward, winning 4 of 6. They're now 14 games over and well in first, as none of the teams behind them made much of a move. The Padres went 1-3, dropped a game under .500 and trail LA by 7 1/2. The Giants went 3-2, are 3 games under, a game behind SD and 8 1/2 back of LA. The D'backs went 2-3, are 4 games under .500, 1/2 game back of SF, 1 1/2 back of SD, and 9 games behind LA. The Rockies actually had a good week, winning 3 more to extend their winning streak to 7, but have dropped their last two. They're 15 games under .500, 5 1/2 behind the D'backs, 6 behind the Giants, 7 behind the Padres, and 14 1/2 out of 1st.
And that concludes The Sunday Standings™ for this week.

uh, isn't that 3 K's in a row for Judge? I think it is 4 Ks in a row. Last three ABs yesterday. More importantly, I think there was a runner on third with one out in at least two of those ABs... All Ks are bad, some are very bad..

FB inside corner above the knees, 30% strike, but called, 0-1 Change outside corner above the waist, fouled back, 0-2 Tries to waste a FB but overthrows, missing 2 feet high, 1-2 Curve drops well below the knees, Soto takes, 2-2 Cutter drops into the zone, waist high, inside corner, Soto tries to turn on it and bounces it foul off 1st. FB tails just outside middle, Soto a bit late and misses fouls it of, then twirls the bat in disgust at missing the cookie. Cutter below the waist, catches the inside corner, doesn't get the Soto call, ꓘ Soto complains, but it WAS strike 3.

Curve low to Judge, 1-0 Cutter on the corner, thigh high, 1-1 Another cutter in the same spot more or less, maybe an inch further outside, but still a strike, 1-2 FB up and Judge misses a bit under, fouls it back. Curve down and in, breaks his bat lunging to hit it, popped foul behind 3rd, Mendick has no play, DeJong comes over late but can't reach it, it falls foul, giving Judge another chance. Which he doesn't take advantage of, swinging over a FB tailing to the outside corner at 94, thigh high, 2nd K for Judge today. 2 down.
