Fb just outside middle, taken for a strike by Verdugo, 0-1
Cutter below and inside of middle, hit hard past the mound, but DeJong is right there on the left side of 2nd in the shift, fields and throws out Verdugo to end the inning.
Flexen has a bounce-back inning of his own, getting the Yanks 1-2-3 on 15 pitches, including striking out both Soto and Judge. He's at 59 pitches through 3.
Top 4, tied at 2.
Jimenez, DeJong and Julks for the White Sox in the 4th.

Change floats high, 1-0 on DeJong.
Slider clips the knees outside middle, 1-1
Change in the dirt, chased and missed, but Jimenez steals 2nd. 1-2 on DeJong
Slider bounced just inside, 2-2
Backdoor slider winds up waist high, outer 3rd, DeJong fouls it off.
Back leg slider hits DeJong on the back leg, and DeJong goes to 1st.
Rodon in trouble again here, 1st and 2nd with 1 out for Julks, who HRed off Rodon his first time up.

Slider winds up 3-4 inches low over the middle, taken, 1-2

Bounces the change over home, Julks checks, but too late, the HP ump says he swung, and the side view confirms, 100%

FB at 98 misses 3 inches outside, called a strike anyway, 0-1. Bad call there, but I'll take it.

Slider in the middle to the knees, swung over. 1-2
Another one at the knees, just outside middle, taken for the K.
Rodon gives up a hit and A HBP, then uses the Cole Method (actually the Seaver and before him, Christy Mathewson "Pitching in a Pinch" method), humps up to 97 and 98, and strikes out the side to get out of the jam
Only drawback is the pitch count, 19 for Rodon in the 4th, and 69 through 4.
Bottom 4, tied at 2.
Stanton, Rizzo and Torres for the Yanks in the 4th.

1st pitch FB just above and outside middle, popped near the mound, Stanton annoyed at missing the cripple, takes off for first late as Vaughn finally calls off Flexen and catches, 1 down.

Change on the low outside corner, he inside outs a slow bouncer to the normal 3rd base spot, but Mendick isn't there, playing toward short, and sadly watches it goes into short right for a 1-0 single.

Rizzo on 1st after his single
Torres takes a bounced curve, and a cutter that backs up well high, 2-0.
He won't get another change here, I'd think. At least, not inside.
Cutter on the outside corner above the waist, Torres takes the big HR hero hack, and is a bit late and under, fouls it back
Stupidly, Flexen gives him a change he can pull, right down the middle, lined toward the corner in left for a hit. Julks cuts it off, holds Rizzo at 2nd with 1 out.

Cutter low away in the zone, Trevino tops it to 3rd, swinging bunt, Mendick charges, fields throws out Trevino, runners move to 2nd and 3rd with 2 down.
Can't keep the DP in order, Paulie, it's the 2nd out of the inning.
