Slider catches the corner away, just a tiny piece, not called 0-1
OK, maybe Todd was right, slider down and in, rifled down the 1st base line into the corner for a 2 run double, Yanks take a 2-0 lead!!

Misses a FB on the outside corner, thigh high, 1-1
FB inside corner waist high, at 96.5 and Stanton catches it, lines it hard, but near to Rodriguez for out #2. Good at bat, but no dice.

you're right a RH. berti has been hot - you mean coming off one good game? as we've seen during the boone years, hot hasn't mattered. players have sat hot or not. More than Berti hot, I see Oswaldo as coldā¦ he had been cold but over his last 7 games, he's 7 for 20 which is .350. |

Maybe he'll settle in, but IMO he may be ripe for a rackin'.  |

FB in the same spot as the first pitch curve, Rizzo a bit late (97 on that FB) Chopped to the normal SS position on the left side, but the 3rd baseman Urias cuts it off from his shifted position, throws out Rizzo, inning over.
Yanks hit 3 balls hard, score two runs, and lead 2-0, going top 2.
19 pitches in the 1st for Gilbert.
Raley, Haniger and Moore for the M's in the 2nd.

Just to make sure I wasn't hallucinating, Verdugo was 6-40, .150 in his last 10 starts.
So he wasn't hot hitting, until he hit the hot 2 run double.
Raley takes a slow curve near middle, 0-1
Gets another on the outside corner waist high, smacked back up the middle for a leadoff single.
