Another splitter, took something off, tailed to the outside corner, swung over 2-2
Slider near the low inside corner, rolled over to Rizzo near the line, takes it himself for a change, inning over.

I think Kay makes Frazier tolerable. I can’t imagine Frazier paired with Flaherty…

I think Kay makes Frazier tolerable. I can’t imagine Frazier paired with Flaherty… Maybe Frazier will settle in and be better with more games. I hope so. |

Slider bends down and in for a strike to Stanton.
Slider outside the zone, slapped off the end of the bat and breaks it, but it bounces through the wide open right side for a leadoff single.
Lucky break, but good job just to make anything like solid contact there. He was hopeless on sliders from righties last season.

Rizzo swings over a FB in the zone near the corner down and in, then waits on a curve in the middle above the knees, and lines it to center for a single, and STANTON GETS ALL THE WAY TO 2ND WITH NOBODY OUT!!

Splitter dives inner half waist high, but Torres misses, fouls it off, 0-2
Fb waist high outside corner, soft chopper to RoJas' right, he turns and gets the force at 2nd, too slow to turn two, so Moore eats the relay, and STANTON GETS ALL THE WAY TO 3RD WITH 1 DOWN!

Trevino walks by applying the brilliant strategy of not swinging at any of four straight pitches at leas5 3 inches outside the zone.

Arrrrggggg!!!
Slider almost right down the middle on the first pitch, somehow ties Berti up a bit, his grounder goes right to Rojas near 2nd, and even with Berti's speed it's an EASY 4-6-3 DP. Rally killed.
Top 5, 2-0 Yanks
The 1st pitch DP ball limits the pitch count to 12, and 53 through 4 for Gilbert.
Haniger, Moore and Canzone for the M's in the 5th.
