Moore gets a bad call. Slider 3 inches outside called strike 1. 0% on Gameday
Cutter 6 inches outside, 1-1
Gets another bad call, cutter 2-3 inches outside called strike 2, again, 0% on Gameday
Curve low should be ball 4 but it's 2-2
Sinker low/outside should be ball 5, but it's 3-2
Hangs a slider inner 3rd waist high, Moore jumps on it hard, but pulls it well foul.
Cutter waist high on the corner away, belted out to left, 2 run HR makes it 2-0, Mariners.
And given the way Woo looks so far, I wish the ump had called the two strikes on Moore correctly and he had walked 3 pitches before.

It was on the outside corner, Todd. Any further outside and it's a ball.
Cutter down and in, fouled, 0-1 on Crawford.
Curve just outside, called a strike anyway, 0-2
Curve drops to the knees, taken for strike 3. ꓘ, 2 down.

Curve inside, ball 1
Slider backs up inside, 2-0
Cutter about 5 inches outside, thigh high, chases and fouls it off, 2-1
Tries to tail the sinker to the low outside corner, misses, 3-1
Sweeper backs up but hits the corner inside, barely, 3-2
Rodriguez didn't like that call but it was a strike on gameday, 20%
Didn't finish the curve and it backs up inside, ball 4.
Lack of quick at bats, and he's about to throw his 60th pitch already.

Cutter into the zone, letter high, outer half, sounds like a tip, but he might've missed it clean, 1-1, either way.
Chases a waist high slider about 3-4 inches outside, 1-2
Throw over nearly picks Rodriguez, barely got back in time.
Rushing a bit now, not finishing pitches, cutter misses high on the outer half, 2-2
Curve thigh high on the corner away, hit well to fairly deep center, but Grisham goes back and puts it away a few steps in front of the track, inning over.
Bottom 3, 2-0, Mariners.
30 pitches in the 3rd, and 64 through 3 for Schmidt.
Cabrera, Grisham and Volpe for the Yanks in the 3rd.

Sinker above and outside middle, hit hard through the b ox, Torres ranges to the left side of 2nd, throws sidearm, hard and true. Excellent play by Torres to get Rodriguez, 2 down. nice play by Gleyber but as you like to say, "where was that last night ya hump" Maybe, but actually, Raley had his throw beat, and if you follow the inning through, his error almost didn't matter. Cabrera takes a strike, then gets a FB up and in, hits it hard to right center, Canzone races over and makes another lunging catch he embellishes with a needless fall/dive. Good play but not as good as he tried to make it look. And good evening, pres. |

Grisham...
FB thigh high inside corner, 0-1
FB above middle, swung on and missed, 0-2
FB a couple of inches inside that one, popped back to the screen, Raleigh runs back and catches, but it hit the screen first, so it's a foul ball, still 0-2
Fb outside, 1-2
Rising FB up in the zone, swung well under, K, 2 down.
That rising high spin FB is going to be tough to adjust to.
