FB above middle, lined to deep left, goes over Verdugo, but a great play on the carom by Verdugo and he holds Garver to a single, Crawford to 3rd with 2 down.
3 pitch at bat, but not successful. 69 pitches. Nestor jumped as if he thought it was a HR, and it nearly was.

raliegh grounds out to volpe to end the 3rd. nestor 74 pitches after 3. yikes!! feel like it's deju vu all over again watching nestor tonite. another bullpen game

Cutter outside to Raleigh, 1-0
Cutter high, 2-0
Cutter just outside middle, taken, 2-1
backdoor slider on the corner, 2-2
Locates a change just outside, rolls over it to Volpe, who fields and throws a strike to Rizzo to get Nestor out of trouble, inning over.
Bottom 3, 2-0 Yanks, but the handwriting is on the wall, Yanks will need 4 or 5 good innings from the pen tonight.
27 pitches for Cortes in the 3rd, and 74 through 3.
Cabrera, then back to the top for Volpe and Soto.
It would help Nestor if the Yanks could make Miller throw 20-25 pitches this inning.

FB misses outside waist high by an inch, called a strike anyway, 1-1. 0% on Gameday, but not by much.
FB thigh high middle, but Cabrera misses, fouling it, 1-2
Chases the FB well high, outer half, grounds it to Urias at 3rd, throws him out. 1 down.
Yanks need better at bats against this guy.

Nestor needs a three pitch 4th inning And a 3 pitch 5th too. I mean technically with the new pitchcount rules, you can now have an inning with less than 3 pitches. |
