Verdguo gets a waist high FB away on the 1st pitch, lifts a fly toward the corner in left, Raley gets to it near the stands, catches, 1 down.
The HR was off a change, Todd, not a 2-seamer.

Stanton fouls off a sinker inside, then gets under a FB in the zone down and in, pops to Moore to end the inning.
Top 4, 2-0 Yanks.

Change on the low outside corner, swung on and missed, 2-2
FB outside middle at 98, Raley misses just a bit under and late, fouls it off, then hangs his head after not connecting on the poorly located FB.
Change inside corner below the waist, fouled.
Fb runs up and away, Trevino doesn't catch it, gets away for a passed ball, Crawford to 2nd, the count is 3-2.
Trevino might have been distracted by Raley's check swing, but a bad passed ball, hit his glove on the fly
Change well outside, fouled off
Raley working Gil over here, spoils another change outside.
On the 10th pitch, he swings over a slider dropping just below middle middle, thought was a FB and swung over it.
Blake goes out to give Gil a rest after the very long at bat.

Garver up, man on 2nd, 2 down...
Slider backs up inside, 1-0
FB with little movement waist high, inside corner at 96, but Garver took it, 1-1
FB with more life winds up 3 inches high over the middle, 2-1
Change inside, Garver set for the FB pulls it hard but well foul off 3rd. 2-2
M's working Gil much harder this time through.
Slider outside corner, spoiled off the right side
Change runs too far inside, missed by 6-8 inches, 3-2
Hangs a slider just above and outside of middle, and Garver is on time, but under it, pops it to Verdugo in medium left, inning over. Gil got away with a bad slider there.
Bottom 4, 2-0 Yanks.
24 pitches for Gil in the 4th, 57 through 4.
Rizzo, Torres and Cabrera for the Yanks in the 4th.

Gil is just mowing them down... Not that inning. They made him work much harder, and missed 2 or 3 very crushable pitches. |
