Dangit, they must've put up the Name that Yankee while I was watching the end of the NBA game. I'd have gotten Whitson. Geez. It was a 10 on the difficulty scale too. I was a young qwik when he was on the team. I knew numbers well, but baseball not as well as I do now. I looked at Whitson's record with the Padres and figured he'd do fine with the Yanks, but he was just one of many pitchers who couldn't handle the constant pressure of New York, the Yankees, and while he was alive, Boss George.

OK, notification checked and responded to as needed. I'm going to take it easy for a while, then go to bed. See you guys tomorrow afternon at 4:10 pm for the series finale, and why the hell can't they keep the Rangers from playing opposite the Yankees games? Every time the Yanks play in the evening, so do the Rangers. Yanks play late afternoon tomorrow and so do the Rangers. So annoying, I'll get to watch the first period without distraction, but after that...
Anyway, good night to all of you. Bye.

Teams is starting (just starting) to look like a well oiled machine. I look forward to seeing 1-4 all HOT at the same time. Fun days ahead.

Just catching up on the game thread and you guys covered everything pretty well. I wanted to add that while a lot of things are going well this season one thing that is a bit concerning is Well's offense. I really like the kid and pull for him but he just isn't hitting. I think he's hit in some bad luck like his first ab but that doesn't totally account for a .200 ba and what has been a real lack of power. I don't think his lack of production has been a point of topic because we are winning and scoring a lot of runs but it would be nice to see him get on a hot streak. Going into this season I was hoping he would establish himself as our everyday C, but so far he's been outplayed by Trevino and looks more like a platoon player. On the bright side, he seems to be playing pretty good D and is doing a nice job handling pitchers.

It's strange, Wells was supposed to be a good hitter who wouldn't be able to catch in the big leagues due to defensive limitations. So far, it's been the exact opposite.

Just want to say that the 2 strike hit by Rizzo shows that all a player has to do sometimes is not swing hard and just meet the ball.

When I was a bartender, I used to wait on Whitson during spring training when he was with the Pirates. He was pleasant enough until he got all liquored up and then he wanted to fight.

The team just keeps on rolling. In my opinion, the Yankees four straight wins came against 1 good starting pitcher and 3 very good starting pitchers.

Only one passed ball ball in his career so far. Runners are 17/4 stealing against him, 19% vs. the league at 23%…pretty close. Offensively he’s leveled off at .200 of late but he’s actually hit ,273/.322/.418 since 4/24, with 5 doubles and a home run in 59 at bats. The well is poisoned by that dreadful start. His biggest problem has been a lack of at bats…

Sorta like Billy Martin, though not as often.
