Two things I hate to see the most is bad d and bad base running. Good thing the d was pretty good tonight and the O's as pretty bad. We lost several runs on the bases. Gerrit Cole throws 101 since when??? Something in the air in Houston has made Cole, Verlander and Morton all better.

I wanna know what it is. Red sux gave up 3 runs in the five minutes I the on game You should put their games on more often. Sometimes watching them win is more stressful than watching the Yankees lose. As of right now the Yankees have a slight edge as top winning percentage. All these double header n shit gonna be crazy. Hope we get the next two games in

The Yankees have a better winning percentage than the Red Sox yet are half a game back of them. Can someone please explain this to me?

It's a statistical anomaly that occurs occasionally because GB is computed by using the addition and subtraction method of wins and losses. This only occurs at times that there is a differential in number of games played to allow the equation to play out that way. To look at it simply, the Red Sox currently have three more wins than the Yankees, but they also have two more losses. This creates the 1/2 differential. In spite of the occurrence of the anomaly the correct to list the standings is with the team with the higher winning percentage on top, which is of course NY today...I don't think I've ever seen this occur when there were less than 3 or so games difference in the number of games played, but the wider the delta in games, the more likely it would occur...

No college for me. I was one of those kids that always had his mind on something else. I also often was the class clown because I was so bored in school and had no audience to listen to me at home. I was called into the guidance office more than once because my IQ and my slightly better than average grades didn't match up. A lot of it was childhood depression. I didn't know that then, but I do now. I also worked about 35-40 hours per week during my high school years, which didn't help. I'd come home tired and shitcan the homework I was supposed to do...Which was really what killed my grades. I guess I failed to recognize back then that I needed to use my mind to work independently, or more likely simply feared not having the direction and security of an employer.
Anyway, I did a lot of self-study of college material on subjects that interested me, like psychology, string theory, alternative believe systems (never would have guessed that one, right?), human sexual behavior...oh, wait...that was porn. (: (Just seeing if you were paying attention)...
I read anything by Edgar Allan Poe that I could get my hands on and studied the life and paintings of Vincent Van Gogh because I wanted to delve deeper into their unusual minds. I did a bit of study about serial killers, too...but that one was too wacky for me, so I stopped before I got in too deep. I would say that I learned early on how frail the line is between sanity and insanity and wanted to look over the edge a bit. Then, I teetered on the brink myself during the years that I was separated from my first wife. I was very pleased when I noticed my own symptoms and was able to save myself without outside aid, and came back to my version of sanity. Some might call it he amy ha... (:

At the very least, I'm smart enough to have you completely buffaloed...
He amy ha to all, Weeks on the Cheap everyone!!!
Thanks for the compliments, kaybli. They mean a lot to me...
Just to describe one issue I had in school. English class. I already had stronger writing and speaking skills than my eighth grade teacher. Now, he's trying to teach me about syntax, and how to diagram a sentence. Well, screw you! If I know how to write and speak to a degree that is stronger than my teacher, I'm not even listening to this guy. His English class was completely focused on that kind of BS for an entire marking period. I get a D in the class to go with an otherwise straight A report card. The other three semesters, I get an B and two A's in his class...My mind would just turn off in situations like that, and I'd be calculating batting averages in the back of the classroom...There were many other things that would simply make me shut down. Unqualified teachers really pissed me off...
I know. I'm a bit weird...but believe me, I'm not unhinged. I know the difference... (:

Oh, here's a by the way for you. While I was listening to the Yankees broadcast of this game, I heard the announcing team discussing whether or not there might have ever been a back up catcher that played on the All-Star team. After consultation with the rest of the staff, they came up with a back up catcher that had batted .341, but had not made the All-Star team, which to me was meaningless, because the answer was no with or without mention of that player. Anyway, I pulled from my memory bank and one Mr. Lawrence Berra played more games in LF than at C in 1961 and was an All-Star. Not only that, but two seasons before Elston Howard was an All-Star while backing up Berra and playing more games at first base than anywhere else (he also did some outfield play).
I sent an e-mail to the network, but they didn't acknowledge this on the air...Were there other similar circumstances? I wouldn't be surprised if using those parameters there may have been another player or two that played multiple positions including backing up at catcher on at least a semi-regular basis that have made the All-Star team. I haven't looked into it any deeper, but I think of players like Smokey Burgess, even Johnny Bench after he was moved off catcher full time...Mike Piazza...and I wonder if it may have happened many times...Catchers are prone to position switches in their later years...maybe Joe Mauer???

Don't mean to scare you Inger but you and I are a lot a like... Get off the ground ... I didn't mean to give you a heart attack I'm aware of both the similarities and the dissimilarities. You've been on my case study list for some time now...One thing that is very dissimilar is that you're hairy as a friggin' ape, whilst I am almost as bald as mexican hairless. Not on my head, on my body...yet I don't think there is much difference in our testosterone level...My testosterone manifests itself directly through my pee-pee... * Please note, I have already taken my ambien tonight. This means that I can deny having any awareness or recall of any statement I type tonight...
