Fb at the bottom, 0-1 on Verdugo. Cutter just outside, swung on and missed, 0-2 Sinker in the same spot, fouled Sinker on the inner 3rd, above the waist, Verdugo turns on it and smashes it down the line, lands in about the 5th on the fair side of the pole, 1-0 Yanks!!

A baserunner has to take a lead. The key word is "intentional." Soto attempted to avoid Neto by circling around the bag. Soto has a right as a baserunner to get back to the bag. He didn't circle around, He made a guess as to where Neto would be, waited as long as he could, then stepped onto the bag. Neto bumped him almost at the same time. It sucks, but the call is probably right. I'll wait to see what the league says after the game to be sure. He didn't go straight to the side of the bag, he went to the back of second base. What would be gained by Soto doing so intentionally? Even if dropped, the infield fly rule was called, so catching the ball is essentially meaningless.

I'm here if you fall asleep. Yea, I might call it an early night because I have to get up early for a meeting tomorrow. Annoying. Thanks, anthony. Much appreciated. I'll let you know.

A baserunner has to take a lead. The key word is "intentional." Soto attempted to avoid Neto by circling around the bag. Soto has a right as a baserunner to get back to the bag. He had a lead. It appeared the ball would be caught standing on 2B. He had no choice but to get back.., I agree he has to take a lead. And that he waited to avoid interfering. But his late lunge into the bag arguably created the contact, and could be judged as interference. I don't like it, but if he steps low and bends down, how can he know to do that?, then maybe they don't call it. I'll wait to see what the league ays about the call. I suspect they'll uphold it.
