Sinker way up is almost a WP, but Treivno keeps it near him.
Sinker waist high, inside corner, O'Hoppe grounds it fairly sharply but right to DJ at 3rd, throws him out and the Yanks hang on by their fingernails to win, 2-1!
Whoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooewwwwwwww!
Yanks break the two game skid to get back to 19 over at 38-19.

Yanks win, 2-1 and keep pace with the O's, the Rays and the Jays, gain a game on the Red Sox.
O's still 1 1/2 back, Sox fall to 9 1/2 back, Rays and Jays stay 10 1/2 and 11 games back, respectively.

They are so lucky to pull that game out. HR and great catch by Dugo. Inside the park HR for Volpe and hit streak extended. Awesome game from Gil.
Stanton ends it with GIDP and Heartburn Holmes almost gives it up.

Somebody come out and slow down Holmes. Too quick. yeah looked very amped up. definitely rushing. settled in enough with a couple at 'ems to get it done.
gil potg. getting better w every start. best pitcher in baseball right now. honorable mention to verdugo for the HR & great defense. 2nd honorable to volpe for the triple.
