any vegetarians here. i've been one since 1972. no seafood. do cheese but no egg. guess that's called a lacto-vegetarian. I love almost all vegetables - except for okra and cactus (Nopales), which taste essentially the same. Living without seafood or eggs seems impossible to me. Okra is great in Gumbo soup! |

No, it's a vile weed with barely visible fiberglass-like spines that get all over you when you have to pick it and when cooked releases a gooey slime. Yech. And, as a favor to me and my Louisiana roots, please just refer to the dish as Gumbo.  |

Okra is great in Gumbo soup! Only vegetable I don't eat is okra, it's kind of slimey. If nopales is like okra, count me out. You're a good woman, Lauren!  |

I'm in the midst of making tofu with scallion/cilantro/peppers, minced ginger and garlic in a spicy bean sauce with added chili crisp and sesame oil...on a bed of rice. Sounds wonderful! There's at least three things in there that Inger won't even try. I'm not sure about the bed of rice. Inger might try a futon of rice or more likely a small ottoman of rice. I eat rice. 21 games in a row for 🦊! Back now. I prefer white, which is not good for me… |
