I grew up in the south, but thank whoever that my mother grew up in New England and never cooked okra. Of course, everything we ate was cooked to death. I love gumbo, but would not eat okra by itself. Broccoli, cauliflower and lima beans can all rot in hell. I eat the bottom stalks on broccoli. Well cooked and not too thick.. I love cauliflower and broccoli sauteed with garlic. |
