The "best reliever in baseball" has a slider back up and in for ball 4. Too a leadoff man. Up by 4 in the 8th.

Slider dives down and in in the zone, he does well to spoil it down 1st.
Sinker well below the zone in the middle, roilled over to Torres, wheel and gets the force at 2nd, Volpe holds the relay, Yaastrzemski too fast to double up on that grounder. 1 down.

Sinker in the zone low/away, pulled down the 3rd base line, hits the kickwall, Verdugo gets to it quickly and down by 4 they hold Chaqpman at 3rd. The best reliever in baseball has turned a 4-run lead into a save situation for a save Holmes is not eligible for having created it.
