3rd star of the game: Verdugo, 2 hits, 2 RBI, the big triple to give them some breathing room, another fine diving catch 2nd star: Poteet, for a credible 5 innings in an emergency callup 1st star: Judge again, the early 2 run HR, another hit and a BB, another run scored. Honorable mention to the bullpen, for four innings of shutout ball to bring home the W for Poteet. Tip of the cap to Stanton for the big fly that put it out of reach again, which reminds me...
Stanton's 14th HR: 100.0 mph, 358 feet, 27º launch angle, a HR in 28 of 30 MLB Parks.

Yanks go for the sweep tomorrow at 4:05 on YES. Nestor Cortes tries to make it two straight good road games, he's 3-4 on the season with a 3.30 ERA and an outstanding WHIP of 1.056. The Giants will try to come away with one game by sending an obviously struggling Blake Snell out there. Since signing late with the Giants, he made 3 bad starts, spent a month on the IL and come off it to pitch badly in 2 more. He's 0-3 on the season with an ERA of 10.43 and a WHIP of 2.000. There's no logical reason for him to pitch well tomorrow, so I look forward to watching him shut the Yanks down for 5 innings.
Tomorrow's preview done, I go to check notifications.

Sinker misses outside by an inch or two, called a strike anyway, 0-1 on Soler Sinker outside middle, fouled off. 0-2 Sinker in the zone low/away, pulled down the 3rd base line, hits the kickwall, Verdugo gets to it quickly and down by 4 they hold Chaqpman at 3rd. The best reliever in baseball has turned a 4-run lead into a save situation for a save Holmes is not eligible for having created it. Hard to vulture a save. But, all's well that ends well. Another series in the book. Can't argue with that, ren.

When was the last time we had an outfield that was this good all-around? White-Pinella-Rivers-Jackson was good, but not as good as these three. Maybe Raines-Bernie-O'Neill? Nope they're not as good either, great as they were. Probably have to go back to Henrich-DiMaggio-Keller, I think. To clarify...if you take PEAK Raines, peak Bernie and peak O'Neill, they're close. But Judge and Soto might both be Hall of Famers, and Verdugo is a well above average left field in his prime.

I wonder, is Houston's park and Fenway the only two stadiums that would have held Stanton's HR, due to the high fences?

Aaron Judge has hit 3 HR's is this series at Oracle Park, so it got me wondering where he stands with the 2024 HR leaders in this place. Believe it or not, he's tied with Estrada and Yastrzemski for the for the most HR's in San Fran with 3! He's played two games there.

After a whirlwind of rotating shifts and late games I could not watch again and went to sleep. I see Judge had another HR and the .220 DH had another bomb NOT CLUTCH Hr.

Remember, although the Monster is high, it's also about 25-30 feet close to home where Stanton hit it, and it was hit fairly high.

I had to google Gerry Rafferty. Right Down the Line? You got it! A very underrated pop singer who had his share of hits. If Pipps was here, he could tell you tons of facts of any musician or band from the 60s to the 80s. Underrated is right, Rizz. Obviously "Baker Street" (one of my favorite songs of the 70s and what a tremendous sax riff) and "Right Down The Line" were his two big hits in the US, but he had a few others like "Get It Right Next Time" and "Night Owl." "City To City" was a ubiquitous album in the late 70s, like "Rumors" or "Hotel California" but Rafferty himself is rather neglected. Drank himself to death at a way too young age. He's in that relatively compact list of rockers from Scotland. Average White Band, Annie Lennox, Pilot ("Magic"), Lulu, Big Country, Marmalade ("Reflections Of My Life"), The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, Stone The Crows (known at least to me mainly because one of their members was electrocuted on stage) and do I have to say Bay City Rollers. A wonderful rockabilly band Shakin' Pyramids. A highly underrated band Trash Can Sinatras. Simple Minds. I know I'm leaving some out. Forgive the late responses. We were back one day from our Tennessee Trek and then it was onto Family Reunion Weekend. The 78th annual! I should be around for a bit, although things come up this time of year.
