Stanton... Change misses just low, 1-0 Casali goes out to talk to Snell... Dead fish change well outside, easy take, 2-0 Arrggg Takes a waist high FB on the inner 3rd, 2-1. Best pitch he'll get this at bat and in a hitter's count Argggg Argggg!! Then you chase curve bounced in front of home? 2-2 Slider bounces away from Casali far enough for Judge to go to 2nd, wild pitch. Change at the knees, fouled, still 3-2 Curve to the inside corner below the waist, Stanton is on that one, rips it foul off 3rd Inside move throw to 2nd to hold Judge close.

FB up in the zone, Stanton starts a bit late but manages to foul it off Same big slow curve a bit lower than the one before, but Stanton is early and misses under, pops to Fitzgerald in short center, 2 down.

Slider misses just outside, ball 1 on Verdugo. FG inner 3rd waist high, misses under and a bit late, 1-1 Slider that's almost a cutter in the zone below and inside middle, but he misses under it, flies out to Fitzgerald in left center, inning over.
Bottom 3, 1-1 20 pitches for Snell in the 3rd, 61 through 3. Top of the order for the Giants in the 4th: Ramos, Wisely and Flores.

In the NL East, the Phillies lost three in a row earlier this week, but have won their last three, so they remain 23 over .500, 1/2 game ahead of the Yanks for the best record in baseball. The Braves are trying to absorb the blows of losing Acuna for the season with a knee injury, as well as multiple starting pitchers. They've lost 4 of 7 and 6 of 9, falling to 8 games over .500 and now trail the Phillies by 7 1/2 games. The Nationals also lost 4 of 7, and at 5 games under, they're 6 behind the Braves and 14 out of first. The Mets season went up in flames this week, at least from a self-respect standpoint. On the field, they had another bad week, losing 4 of 6, are now 10 games under, 2 1/2 behind Washington, 8 1/2 back of Atlanta and 16 1/2 out of 1st. The Marlins split 6 games and are 17 games under .500. Despite the Mets' woes, they're still 3 1/2 behind them, 6 back of the Nats, 12 1/2 behind the Braves and 20 games out of first.

I'm saddled with the Giants broadcast, so I don't know if they showed it on the Yankee broadcast, but Art Shallock, the oldest living MLB player and ex-Yankee, is at the game. I know Inger wrote about him recently. Before the game he was in the Yankees dugout wearing a Yankee jersey and Aaron Boone came over and spoke to him. Shallock looks very lively for a guy who just turned 100. www.baseball-reference.com/players/s/schalar01.shtml

Ramos... Cutter high, ball 1 Chases a FB almost in the same spot, 1-1 Cutter into the top of the zone, fouled straight back, 1-2 FB near middle, fouled off. Gil wouldn't start. Lugo leads the league in BOTH wins AND K's. Cutter in the zone up and in, fouled Ramos takes his timeout, then takes a change outside Terrible FB just below middle middle, an insult pitch, and Ramos takes offense, belts it to deep left of center, Judge goes back and gives it a respect leap, but has no shot, solo HR makes it 2-1 Giants.

FB in the middle of the plate thigh high, Wisely takes it for a strike Slider to the outside corner, barely, fouled, 0-2 FB in the middle, knee high, gets a piece of the bottom, not called. 10-20% on Gameday Slider in the middle thigh high, fouled Slider dives just low and outside, Wisely chases for the K, 1 down.

Flores takes a cutter just low, 1-0 Takes a slider much lower, 2-0 Cutter in the zone away, fouled, 2-1 FB waist high outer 3rd, Flores puts a good swing on it, hits a fly to farily deep right center, Judge hauls in in a few steps from the track, 2 down.

Man, that fan who caught the ball looks like and acted like a guy I used to work with in California in the 90s. Last name Arkelian. Huge Giants fan and we used to rag each other. I told him the Giants would never win a World Series with Barry "Balco" Bonds.

Nestor can't throw Chapman lay it in fastballs on the first pitch!! But he does, and Chapman cracks it up the left center gap to the wall for a 2 out double.

Soler... Change outside, 1-0 Chases a change outside but much lower, 1-1 FB inner 3rd fouled, 1-2 Change outside, in between the 1st and 3rd changes in terms of height, Soler hits a routine fly to center to end the innings.
Top 4, 2-1 Giants. 21 pitches for Nestor in the 3rd and 66 through 4. I don't think he gets much past 4 innings today. I could be wrong.
LeMahieu, Rizzo and Torres for the Yanks in the 4th.
