They've also pulled Dominquez early in several of these rehab games. Boone said they didn't even know Dominguez had been taken out early until the media told him about it in the post-game press conference. We also know that Soto does not like to miss games, so if he isn't in the lineup tonight, I'm really going to be nervous.

I don't think Dominquez leaving the game is related to Soto. Why would the Yankees recall Dominguez when they have Greg Allen wasting away in Scranton?

Yes - could be scary as if that's the case his Yankee career could be over. That said, I just don't think it's that. He had been playing with it just fine and they said they only took him out as a precaution due to rain delay. The only worrisome thing to me is deciding to have imaging done and there being no new on that yet. Fingers crossed.

If he sits and they tell us, "It's just precautionary", it means they know there's an injury, and either they don't know how bad it is, or they don't want to say, yet.

"Forearm discomfort" is one of the more ominous phrases in the business. Rarely heard it said about the non-throwing arm. Often a precursor for Tommy John surgery. And the left arm is Soto's throwing arm.

Exactly, and they sure aren't going tell us right away. It is common for pro athletes to get MRI's as a precaution and to rule out major injuries. I hope that's the case here.

Red Sox got a run in the top of the first, lead the White Sox, 1-0, bottom 1. Shouldn't be long before the WSox start trading players for prospects.

Despite the optimism of the "realists", I think an extended injury to Soto would damage the offense substantially, primarily because it'll put the heat back on the other hitters. They're better able to withstnad it than they were last year when Judge hit the wall in Dodger Stadium; Volpe is much improved, so is Stanton and they have Verudgo instead of AAAA flotsam and jetsam, and they'd still have Judge (of course), but the Fast and the season's Furious mad dash is certain to hit some potholes if Soto is out for a long stretch.

Do they have any veterans worth trading for after their selloff? Maybe Robert, Jr., who just got back from yet another injury, but if Soto's healthy, there's no need for him. Injuries have greatly diminished Jimenez, he's now mostly a DH. Could the Yanks use a good 3rd baseman? Yeah, but the Sox don't have one; Moncada's hurt again, and I'm nost sure he's much of an improvement over what the Yanks already have. Yeah, Fedde and especially Crochet are pitching very well in their rotation, but Crochet is a hard throwing lefty that the White Sox control for two more seasons after this one, it would take multiple top prospects to pry him away', at least, say, Arias and one of the remaining good pitching prospects from a system whose starter depth was severely depleted in the Soto trade. Fedde has proven little, and might not been any better than Poteet. I suppose they could use a power arm in the pen in Kopech, and while he strikes out a lot of guys, he's done a poor job as the closer; already 6 losses in relief and two more blown saves while saving just 5 games.
