obviously yamamoto giving them 7 innings gave the dodger bullpen the upper hand as their pen was better than ours. though weaver pitched last night, it was only 11 pitches. not sure why boone left hamilton in so long. not that we had many opportunities but a number of yankees came up short. stanton w 3 Ks, rizzo, DJ and grisham's horrible bunt attempt. since they threatened to bring in soto earlier, not sure why they didn't in that spot. add gleyber and trevino to the hitless parade. Wow, I completely forgot about Weaver, he didn't pitch tonight. Thanks for reminding me. With Kahnle, that gives them a decent 8th and 9th inning assuming they can get a lead tomorrow. |

All’s right here as I got my evening’s work completed just before the mosquitoes landed. They’ll be here every morn and night for the next six weeks.
As for the Yanks, no problem. You have to lose sometime and it was a close game. Just gotta turn around and win tomorrow…
Sort of glad I missed it…

Rizzo takes a strike FB outside middle at 95, Rizzo misses under pops it foul toward the Dodgers dugout, Smith runs over, hangs on to the mask has to lunge back and Ramirez comes in late to nearly submarine him, but Smith holds the catch to end the game. Yanks lose 2-1, and the 8-game winning streak is over. Tremendous pressure on Nestor tomorrow to hold this lineup down for 7 innings, because the key guys have pitched two days in a row. They might have an inning from Ferguson and Kahnle to close. Tonkin might, conceivably, be able to give them an inning. Wonder if they DFA Santana to get another arm here.... Weaver should be available. Yeah, just realized thanks to bumper. For some reason, I thought he should've been brought in earlier, but Boone was thinking ahead for a change and saved Weaver to potentially close tomorrow. |

They lost a tough game in the 11th because they had no bench. Need to have big games Sat and Sun. Turn the page. Hopefully Soto back swinging. Not having Soto made a big difference, too. With DJ and Rizzo being so bad, and Stanton to a large extent also, it's a pretty shallow line-up with huge holes. I'm afraid the season will go as Soto goes, unless one of the non-performers wakes up. |

Being unable to execute a simple bunt as a MLB player is absolutely pathetic and inexcusible. Grisham was already on my poo list before that debacle. |

Tough loss to a very good Dodgers team, with a stronger pen than the Yanks have. Soto might've made a difference, but if he has to sit the whole series to make sure he's OK the rest of the way, I'm good with that.

in any case, we have had to get 10.2 innings out of our pen the last 2 nights.

Though disappointing, I'm in favor of him sitting out as long as necessary to avoid any setbacks. It's a long season and Soto is badly needed in the lineup. Yeah, this is a big series prestige-wise, but it's short sighted putting him in the lineup right now if there's any risk of making things worse. |
