Greg Bird is hitting .322 with 14 HRs for Jalisco. Just saying...... I'd seriously like to see him get another shot somewhere. Look at Tonkin...out of the league for 5 years I have a soft spot for Bird. I thought he was a promising ballplayer and the Yankees didn't do him any favors by misdiagnosing his injury and then allowing the fat turd to call him out for a lack of heart.

Santana is a white flag move. Yep, Santana is White Flag. Tonkin is False Flag and a surprising revelation to the bullpen recently.

I haven't paid enough attention to Kahnle's change up so for those who have, is he relying more on movement than change of speeds? Yes, same mistake as last season. We he's more balanced with his repertoire, even marginally bad pitches have enough deception for an out. Too easy to lay off a change-up when there is simply repetition and no modification in speed or location or plane break.

Same here...and agreed. I watched him & Gausman play high school ball, and my grandsons played in the same club team organization, at different times of course. I followed him from the time Yanks drafted him, and thru his comeback attempts. Thought he had a real shot to connect with his "hometown" Rockies, but wasn't meant to be.

Isn't this more about the "rest of the team", than without Soto? Soto does add a good AB, but you still have 7 others, underperforming... Volpe has been very good at the lead off spot and Verdugo has been fine. The Yankees have been top heavy all season, but when you have Judge and Soto with elite pitching, you can get away with it.

Thats what happens when you replace Soto with Grisham ... they dont have to do that. They chose to do that Also you have to recognize when 1/3 of your lineup is washed up and do soemthing about it ... again it's a choice that they are deciding not to make Maybe this will wake the FO up

As long as we have plenty of time here... I have been amusing myself lately listening to old recordings of radio talk show genius, Jean Shepherd. I used to love to listen to him with my dad just before I went to bed in the 70's before he stopped doing his old show. There are a couple of sites around the web where you can download the recordings for free. Just though I'd mention it for any old-time fans of his show. He's still a blast after all these years, and I love references and commercials of old businesses and products that no longer exist. Jean Shepherd co-wrote and narrated the now classic "A Christmas Story"... "You'll shoot your eye out!!!" Yep, based on multiple stories from his book In God We Trust (All Others Pay Cash). I have four of his story/true fact anthology books, many stories and true fact newspaper and magazine stories detailing weird and wonderful "news stories"; In God We Trust, Wanda Hickey's Night of Golden Memories (and Other Disasters), The Ferrari in the Bedroom, and A Fistful of Fig Newton. They're all worth reading.
