Melendez up.
Slider misses well outside, called a strike anyway. Nothing like the same pitch, Jeff. 3-4 inches off the plate on Gameday.
Sinker outside middle, Melendez late and under, fouls it off, 0-2
Bounces the slider over the inner half of the plate. Melendez with the awful chase, misses it for the K, takes off for first, and Trevino throws to DJ to complete the play and end the game. Yanks win 4-2!

Havent followed this thread but ... Did anyone else notice Rodon and Trevino cheating during the mound conference in the 7th inn?
Rodon reached for Trevinos hand as if to take something i.e. a substance from Trevino who than wiped his hand on his pants.
Rodon was walking off the mound rubbing his fingers together after te final out as if to wipe it off his fingers

Yanks win their 2nd straight, 4-2, beating the Royals' ace, Lugo. They get back to 26 games over .500 for the 2nd time, 47-21. Hard to believe that the season is 40% over, but it is.
Yanks have now won 10 of 12, 21 of 27 and 27 of their last 35 games.
Yanks keep their 2 1/2 game lead on the O's for another day, gain a 1/2 game on the 3rd place Red Sox, and another full game on both the Jays and Rays. Sox are now 13 games behind, Jays are 14 back and the Rays are 15 full games out of 1st.

But I'm sure some smart guy on the internet will show that video and spread it around. Maybe saving something for the key spots in the game isn't all Cole is teaching Rodon. |
