Havent followed this thread but ... Did anyone else notice Rodon and Trevino cheating during the mound conference in the 7th inn? Rodon reached for Trevinos hand as if to take something i.e. a substance from Trevino who than wiped his hand on his pants. Rodon was walking off the mound rubbing his fingers together after te final out as if to wipe it off his fingers Nobody but you noticed it. Not even the Royals. But I'm sure some smart guy on the internet will show that video and spread it around. Maybe saving something for the key spots in the game isn't all Cole is teaching Rodon. If you get a chance to rewind it ... its really obvious. I wont be surpised at all if this is mentioned tomorrow

guess that "spring training "B" team" got it done. once again boone is a genius. all the runs scored early. played some small ball w at least 3 bunts.
rodon was dominating. maybe tired a bit in the 7th. potg. tonkin gets the save!!!
trevino's base hit drives in 2 so gets an honorable mention. set up by jone's sac bunt. DJ drove in a run w sac bunt. verdugo 2 hits and an rbi so he gets an HM as well.
the best news is won on a day judge rested. tomorrow hopefully we see the dynamic duo.

3rd star of the game: Trevino for handling Rodon, Hamilton and Ace Closer Tonkin™!! through 9 innings against a solid hitting team in their bulding, plus the big 2 run single in the 3rd. 2nd star of the game: Ace Closer Tonkin™!!, for holding things together in the 9th, and getting his 1st save for the Yanks. 1st star of the game: Rodon, for 7 outstanding innings of 1 run ball with just 5 hits and 0 BB with 3 K, his 7th straight quality start and 7th straight wins. He's now 9-2 on the season with an ERA of 2.93, tied with Lugo for the most wins in the league, and 7th in the AL in ERA.

I'll look out for reports on that on the internet.

I'm sure that Cora won't be watching real close when he pitches again Saturday at Fenway.

Ok...game 2 of this series is tomororow on YES, also at 8:10. The Yanks send out Marcus Stroman to see if he can turns things around after his last start, a bad one vs. the Twins. He's 5-2 on the season with a 3.04 ERA, currently 10th in the AL. The Royals send tall righty and former 1st round pick Brady Singer to try to even the series. He's having a very good year himself so far: he's 4-2 with a 2.76 ERA. If he had two more innings, he'd be qualified for the AL ERA lead, and would be sitting 7th, just above Rodon.
Going to check the notifications now.

We pay for one lousy game of Kay, O'Neill and Cone with a series of Ruocco and Nelson. Ah, well. Kay did that Friday night game at the Stadium and the was in London yesterday for the Mets/Phillies. I think we'll hear him Friday night at Fenway. Didn't know that. Welp, that's an explanation.

He got a bit of a late break, but hustled and ran it down anyway. Betcha Franchy coulda missed that one… ...if he took notice of it at all...

Tom Gordon for the Name that Yankee. Beat me by 2 minutes… it was this close, Chief… Not an easy one, took me a moment, but the time with the Red Sox helped me figure it out.
