Not sure what happened. I started watching the new season of Deadliest Catch and next I know it was 2 hours later and switched back to the 9th inning.

Honorable mention to Soto with 2 BB, 2 runs and a nifty slide at home to avoid the tag and make it a 2-0 lead in the first. Hat tip to Volpe for the leadoff triple that got things started and the excellent recovery from his bobble to throw out Velazquez leading off the 2nd when the game was still 2-0. Hang In There, Pal Award to Rizzo, who made 3 very different excellent plays in the 4th, and hit 3 balls quite hard with nothing to show for it. 3rd star of the game: Judge, for the RBI single in the 1st, giving the Yanks the early lead and a 2-run HR after it was broken open. 2nd star: Wells for the big 3-run HR in the 4th that broke the game open. Royals never challenged after that. 1st star: Stroman for dancing in and out of trouble again for 5 2/3 shutout innings and 102 pitches, earning his 4th straight win, moving his record to 6-2 on the season, lowering his ERA to 2.82, 8th in the AL.

Game 3 is again tomorrow at 8:10, unfortunately, it's the Prime (Delayed) Video Lame of the Week. Cody Poteet makes his 4th start in rotation for the Yanks. He's coming off a fine effort vs. a tough Dodgers team, matching up with Yamamoto and holding LA scoreless for 4 2/3 innings. He's 2-0 with a 1.72 ERA in the first three starts. Daniel Lynch another 1st round pick for the Royals in 2018, will try to avoid losing the 3rd in a row for them. He's also making his 4th start of the season, but hasn't done as well: he's 0-0 with a 5.62 ERA in 16 innings. He got hammered by Seattle in his last start, but the Royals rallied and got him off the hook.
OK, game preview done, I go to check notifications.

I'm stumped on this Name that Yankee. Verdugo works the count to 3-1, then chops a grounder to the right of 2nd that gets through for a single. Steve "Bye Bye" Balboni. Yeah, I should've remembered him, rizzuto. Not great.

Judge... Sinker outside knee high, 1-0 Slider low/away 2-0 Backs the sinker over the outer 3rd above the knees for a strike, 2-1 Slider outside corner, lifted toward the line in right, Waters moves over and catches, 2 down. Balboni, that was bad of me not to get that one. I know he was the starting 1 st baseman for the Royals in 1085 when they won the Series. Bad. He was traded right after the Battle of Hastings in 1066. Battle of Bastings, I think, given the nature of tonight's...uh...thread.

This is very strange. Not sure if other fans are feeling it but I'm tired of the season and just want the Playoffs to start NOW but it's only June. This season is WS or bust. I love watching Soto and Judge and this is pure enjoyment but so much BS if we don't win it all. We have Soto but he can walk in less than a year. Cole needs to be back and healthy for the Playoffs. Gleyber is a turd in his walk year. Rizzo is done. Stanton offers ZERO to this team except an occasional OHH and AHHH for a HR. Wells is off to a slow start but we are pulling for him. We have some great talented young OFers buried in the minors because of Stanton. We love Dugie but he might be one and done. I love the radio broadcasts but Sterling retired and we got boring guys that don't want to go all in and do something different or called copycat.
For some reason I lost excitement for Yankee baseball. I watch and follow every game but I'm just not feeling it. When Soto got hurt I felt like it was back to Cashman's just fall sort collection.

I know what you mean but I'm not there yet, JEG. They need Cole to return healthy and dominant, and this team is still a couple of minor pieces short of a title winner and I'm hoping they can come up with them from the system or via trade. I'd like a power arm for the pen, preferably a lefty, and at least one, maybe two good hitters to platoon at 1st, 3rd or both, and the other one maybe named Jasson, just for the extra s, as in sizzle.

I loved characters like Wells, Giambi, Damon, Swish. I love exciting players like Dugie and OC that want to have fun out there. I love gamers and clutch players. To see the pain in Soto not being able to play while Stanton is content to do nothing makes my blood boil. Jeter and my guys from the 70's would crawl on the field in pain instead of missing a play.
I hate watching Yankee Baseball with Stanton. Dude doesn't play or run. Is content with being a .220 hit as long as he crushes a few meaningless HRs. When he rounds 3B after a HR and pretends he is taking a hand off up the middle makes me want to puke. He can't give 100% running to 1B on a ground ball but he is going to crash the line for 10 yards against 11 guys for a 1st down. I need this guy out of Pinstripes to bring back my love of the game.

I think I am going to take a few nights off watching and posting. I would say I really need a week or 2 BUT I see Boston, Baltimore, and Mets coming up and those are must watch.
