Torres leads off. Wells and Cabrera will follow.
Torres... Takes a sinker in the middle that maybe grazed the top of the zone, called a strike, 0-1 Slider waist high away, popped to short, Witt catches, 1 down.

You need to stop needling the board with your sewing puns. No need to be anti-sewcial about it… I really don't mean to seam that way.

Wells... takes a sinker on the corner away, 0-1 FB high, 1-1 Slider for the back door misses away, 2-1 Misses another back door slider, 2-2 Sinker misses inside thigh high, 3-2 Maddux splilback sinker starts inside, tails back to the corenr, Wells takes it and starts to toss the bat away for a walk, but it's 50-50 on the corner and called strike 3, 2 down.

Cabrera... Slider on the outer 3rd, taken, 0-1 FB tails up and away, 1-1 Same slider as the first pitch, a foul fly down the line in left slices just out of play. Slider diving low inside middle, chased and swung over for the K, inning over.
Bounceback 1-2-3 for Singer in the 2nd. 12 pitch 1-2-3 with 2 K's and 33 through 2. Bottom 2, 2-0 Yanks.
Velazquez, Waters and Loftin for the Royals in their half of the 2nd.

Velazquez gets a cutter on the corner away, hammered right at Volpe, he bobbles the vicious grounder, recovers, wheels aroudn and fires a strike to Rizzo, getting him by a step. Outstanding recovery of the original boot. Much tougher from short than 2nd or 1st.

Loftin... Sinker misses low and away, 1-0 Sinker same area, taken, 2-0 Sinker down and in fouled off, 2-1 Splitter in the same general area as the two sinkers, taken, 3-1 Sinker on the low outside corner, rolled over to Volpe, moves a step or two right, fields, throws on the move and gets him to end the inning.
Top 3, 2-0 Yanks 12 pitch 1-2-3 for Stroman and 30 through 2 innings.
Top of the order for the Yanks in the 3rd: Volpe, Soto and Judge.

Let’s see what Singer is really about. He had a good second after his unseamly first inning…

Volpe... Takes a sinker low and away, 1-0 Gets a slider low and away in the zone, lines it hard to the right side, but Pasquantino lunges to his left to catch, 1 down.
