Royals show some fight late (that usually bodes poorly for the next game), but the Yanks win a "blowout" 11-5, winning their 4th game in a row, their 12th of 14, and their 28th out of 36. They get to a new season high of 28 games over .500 and at 49-21, they're playing .700 ball on the season, which is a 113-49 pace. They win the series as well, their 6th straight road series win, and their 8th win in a row away from the Stadium. They're actually better on the road this year, 27-11, run differential of +80 runs, as opposed to 22-10 at home, +48 runs.
They keep pace with the O's and Red Sox and pick up another game on the lagging Jays and Rays. They stay 2 1/2 ahead of Baltimore, 14 up on the Sox, and move to 15 and 16 games ahead of the Jays and Rays, respectively.
