Terrible sinker bounced outside, Trevino blocks to save the WP
Sinker misses low near middle, 2-0
Sinker on the low inside corner, hammered down 3rd, into the LF corner, by the time verdugo picks it up there's no play at the plate, 2 run walkoff double by Garcia wins it for the Royals, and blows Cortes' first road win, and a chance to pick up a game on the O's.
Damm.

Could see that coming with how "iffy" the BP has been lately. That was U-G-L-Y from Holmes. Oh well, Butthead will have to wait to play with his broom another day. On to the next one.

OK, just took another look at the infield hit, Holmes made a move to get the soft bouncer from Waters, realized he couldn't and headed right for the bag, but the original move froze Rizzo back, and delayed the pickup and toss to Holmes.
For want of a nail...

Because if Holmes does get it, Rizzo has to be able to get to the bag for the short toss.

That is Holmes' ball to play. He damn near stepped on it. If Rizzo comes in hard on that he either runs into Holmes, or ends up getting to the ball at an impossible angle to throw the runner out. |

Count on Holmes to melt down at least a few times a year... That is why I am never sure with him coming in... If he only melts down a few times a year for 10 years as a closer, they have a place for him. It's called Cooperstown. I know it's hard to believe, but we'll never see another Mo in our lifetimes. |

OK, Yanks rally from 2-0 down with 3 in the 8th, but the Royals get two clutch two out hits and walk it off on the double by Garica.
Yanks latest win streak is over at 4, though they win another road series. They fall back to 27 over at 49-22 and miss a chance to gain a game on the O's, who remain 2 1/2 back.
Red Sox, Rays and Jays pick up a 1/2 game on the two leaders, and the First two can make it a full game with a win tonight. Jays have the night off.
