Cutter above middle at 91, fouled off, 0-1
Volpe way way early, chases a cutter way high, collapsing to a knee as he checks too late, 0-2
Same high cutter, takes that one, 1-0
Cabrera goes, but Volpe pops up a cutter up in the zone to right, easy play for Refsnyder, inning over. Tried to go to right, but missed under it.
Bottom 8, 6-4 Sox.
Rafaela, then back to the top for Duran and Refsnyder, against....I'm not sure.

Kenley Jansen is one of the most proficient closers at converting save opportunities in baseball history at 88.3%. Mariano is the best at 89.1%. It's weird. Closers can have very high rates in a great/lucky season, but if they're under 80% they lost their job. At 90% that's about the best in the game in most seasons. Change low in the middle, swung over. Change on the corner away, pulled over Soto to the Monster in left, rebounds by him a bit, easy leadoff double for Rafaela. |
