I wish I was old enough to have seen young inger. Here's "younger" inger:
Those are the biggest baseballs and smallest bats I've ever seen. No wonder Inger was able to catch everything. |

FB outside corner, lofted down the line in right, plays with the Pesky Pole, just slices foul, Rodon lucky again.
Slider down the middle AGAIN< thigh high, Rodon is lucky again, because Refsnyder misses and tops it to 3rd, DJ goes to Torres for the force, but the relay is late. 2 down man on 1st for O'Neill.

FB misses up and away, 2-0
Change waist high, corner away, fouled
Throw over on Refsnyder
FB up and away 3-1
FB above middle again at 97, lucky O'Neill missed under, 3-2
And FB in the zone a bit higher, this one at 98, fouled almost straight back.

Another gosh-awful slider, hanging waist high inside of middle middle, pulled deep down the LF line, had HR distance, but hooks foul.
And ANOTHER terrible slider down the middle, he pops it behind 1st, falls in front of Verdugo for a hit, Refsnyder to 3rd with 2 down, bringing Devers into the inning.

FB overthrown way high, 1-0 on Devers
FB misses 3-4 inches outside near the top, 2-0
Throws the rarely used cutter, fooled him but turing outside to the corner above the waist, swung on and missed, 2-1
FB above the outside corner at 97, fouled off. 2-2
FB pulled outside and high, 3-2

Thanks for the uber-annoying umpcam on the 3-2 FB middle above the waist that Devers fouled off.
FB otuside near the top, late spoiler hack gets a piece to keep Devers alive.
FB above middle at 96, driven up the left center gap, goes to the wall, both runners score, 5-2 Sox.
You can't leave the FB anywhere near that low, especially in the middle, to Devers.

Thus far, Carlos Rodon has no fastball command, and no other pitch appears viable. Prognosis: Yankees will win if they score in double figures. Rodon likely done after the fourth inning.

FB popped foul off 1st, gets into the stands, 3-2
Bounces a back leg slider, ball 4.
Blake goes out to, what? What the hell can Blake do when Rodon is this far off?
1st and 3rd, two down for Yoshida.
