I hate to post it but I don't see it making much difference. Rice can't possibly be worse than what DJ is. I am more disappointed in Torres than DJ. You had to suspect Father Time would be catching up to DJ but you'd anticipate a better year from Gleyber.

Change low on the corner away, 1-0 on Smith Cutter up and in ties him up, weak hack, 1-1 FB above middle, but Smith somehow tops it up the middle, Volpe right behind 2nd, fields and throws out Smith to finally end the inning. Top 8, 7-3 Sox. Volpe, Soto and Judge for the Yanks in the 8th.

this game has been tough to watch. Might need to let the kids take over now. No more Trevino....

Why in the hell wouldn't you throw through on strike 3? A caught stealing would be the third out. Because his arm is very bad now, possibly hiding an injury, and if you don't get him, you concede Wong scoring from 3rd. I agree, down by 4, it's probably worth a shot, but that's why they didn't do it when the game was closer.

Gonna need a mini miracle to salvage this one. We've looked BAD the last two games. Hopefully it's a small/short bump in the road.

It's hard to take him out of there if he isn't hurting because of his superior framing and receiving, and the fact that he's outhitting Wells by a lot. I don't know what to do, but I'm sure the O's are watching this.

This team seems so much slower with the return of LeMahieu.

Weissert comes in for the 8th. Sinker to the knees, taken for a strike Sinker waist high, outside corner is strike 2. Frisbee slider way outside, 1-2 Sinker above middle, and "Volpe chases" says Karl Ravech. You mean, as opposed to taking a FB almost down the middle, Karl? Can you interrupt your shortstop draft, which no one cares about, to pay attention to the freaking game, please?

Judge takes a 92 sinker in the drop the bat down and in happy zone, thigh high, inner half,m 0-1 Slider about 4-5 inches outside at the knees, 1-1 Slider starts at his body, dives to the knees inside middle, just times it but barely tips it off the end of the bat, foul, 1-2 Sinker outer half, thigh high, fouled, 1-2 And Judge guesses slider by location and count, takes another sinker pitched backwards hitting the outer 3rd above the knees for the ꓘ Eduardo says he took a slider on the previous pitch, but it was a FB outside middle that he fouled off.

Torres by far the biggest disappointment on the team this year. That last strikeout sums up his season.

Slider on the back door taken, 0-1 on Verdugo. Slider misses low on the corner away, 1-1 FB about 3-4 inches outside waist high, serves it the other way, but the fliner is close to Duran, easy catch, inning over.
Bottom 8, 7-3 Sox.

I was just thinking of first basemen, if Rizzo is out. If they just play DJ at first and Oswaldo at third, this offense will suffer.

We thought he could break out of it, but might not happen this year.
