This embarrassing beating could be what this team needs to wake them up - Cashman and Boone included - from their stupor that that can’t just coast into the World Series carrying non productive dead weight.

And once again, the bullpen has been way too leaky. We have a lot of weak areas that have come home to roost this weekend. There is not one bullpen pitcher that I currently have faith in to come in and pitch a 1-2-3 inning. Holmes has always driven me crazy in that regard. Rarely does that. |

Two dreadful games back-to-back, not great with a huge series on deck.
I remain more concerned with the bullpen than anything else. It's been pretty bad over the last couple weeks. We don't have a single dominant guy, and most of them are gas cans at this point. Very concerning.

Dalbec gets a slider thigh high in the middle, and misses just under, driving it to deep right center, Judge gets to it near the track, inning over.
Top 9, 9-3 Sox.
Stanton, Cabrera and Torres in the 9th, no idea who pitches for the Sox.

How many stolen bases now? 10? 11? I lost count. It’s shouldn’t be legal and not fair to Trevino. Manfred needs to make a rule that fast runners have to carry extra weight

Swings over a slider that started outside, broke over the plate in the middle down in the zone, swung over, 1-2
Flies open, FB misses up and away, 2-2
Change bounced near the corner inside, 3-2

Big breaking slide makes Torres lunge and roll it over to Hamilton, he charges throws sidearm to 2nd for the force, and Valdez holds the relay, too slow to turn two there.
Trevino takes a Sinker high, ball 1.

Yanks undressed on national TV for the 3rd time in 4 games the last two weekends, drop their 2nd straight and 3rd of the last 4. Fall back to 26 over .500 at 50-24, and give the viewer the impression that if the wheels aren't coming off the bus, they're certainly coming loose.
The entire division gains a game on the Yanks today: the O's just 1 1/2 back and looking like they'll take the division lead away this upcoming series at the Stadium, the Sox now 12 games behind, the Jays 13 1/2 back and the Rays 15 games out of 1st.
