Going into that game Wells was at league average 22% caught stealing, Trevino was at 26%. Trevino was much higher a week or two ago… I missed the game. This is the first I’ve known of the 9 steals. Holy crap… Most of the time, Trevino didn't even throw the ball, even when Dominic Smith (yes, Dominic Smith) stole second by essentially trotting there without a slide. When he did throw, there was nothing on them. Something is wrong with Trevino in my opinion, but it certainly doesn't help how slow to the plate Stroman is. He might as well be a foot taller. Of course the overly simplistic solution is to not allow runners on base. But it does sound like Trevino may be hurting… |
