OK, no new notifications, Boone didn't seem to be that down, but...he didn't directly answer the x-ray question. However, if there is a break in a small bone, it'll require other imaging, and a close scrutiny by a real doctor to determine. So I have a bit more hope that I did, but my pessimism with this team and it's accurage reporting of medical news leaves something to be desired.
And with that, I bid you all good night in the hope of, if not good news, then tolerable news tomorrow. Good night to all. Bye.

Judge says X-Rays and CT Scans are NEGATIVE on postgame report. Nothing broken apparently. Exhale time?

Good news, indeed, kaybli. I was watching the end of the Oilers game. Panthers got a goal in the 3rd to make it 4-3, but the Oilers got an empty-netter from McDavid after Tkachuk made an insane diving sliding swing the stick at it save on a puck right on the goal line. Oilers win, 5-3, taking it back to Edmonton for game 5, the first time in Stanley Cup history that a team has come back from down 3-0 to even force a game 6 by wining game 5 on the road.

Knowing the Yanks and Boone, I'd think Judger probably doesn't start tomorrow unless he can show everyone he's swinging 100%. Which wouldn't be great because that would mean Grisham must start vs. a lefty, albeit a rookie in Cade Povich.

a big exhale. be very surprised if we see him again in this orioles series. guessing he'd be sore for a couple days.
when it happened was thinking mookie betts who's out for 6-8 weeks. but the dodgers have a lot more depth than we do. if it that happened to judge would mean season over.

not sure if there's anything to it. but have heard it suggested that orioles weren't happy about the soto interference injuring westburg and maybe the high & tight to judge was payback. then gleyber got hit. then nestor threw up & in on gunnar. was there a bit of an escalation?

I don't think I've ever seen a player look more joyful getting his first hit than Ben Rice did. You'd have to be pretty dour to not have that make you smile with him. Love that enthusiasm.

There's nothing wrong with pitching up and in. It's actually a pretty decent way to work Judge. However, many players are of the opinion that if you're going to pitch there, you better darn well have the control to pitch there. Although these guys are all on different teams, they're all part of the same union and they often have the same agents. I don't think the pitcher was going after Judge there. As far as retaliation, I think Cole might send a message, whether or not it's a good idea. The Yankees have a tough stretch ahead with the Braves, the Fighting Grimaces, and then Toronto. Losing Cole for a start is not something I'd want. The bullpen guys are in a similar situation. Our bullpen is depleted and we're going to see guys we don't want to see in medium/high leverage roles. It may actually be more important to keep the bullpen arms than the starters because there's very little help at AAA. Gomez is the only good arm left on the 40 man roster and I assume they won't want to put him in the pen until they're sure Cole is ok.

I doubt the pitcher was trying to hit Judge. I think Cole is the wrong guy to send a message. First we don't need to have him suspended. Second he might not have his full control after the long injury and you don't want to hurt anyone.
The Astro's and Yankees belong to the same union. That did not stop the Astro players from finding a way to cheat in the play offs (it came from the players not the management who simply lacked the guts to stop it). Being in a sports union has little to do with behavior on the field.
