not sure if there's anything to it. but have heard it suggested that orioles weren't happy about the soto interference injuring westburg and maybe the high & tight to judge was payback. then gleyber got hit. then nestor threw up & in on gunnar. was there a bit of an escalation? So let me think this one out....Juan Soto, anticipating a $750 M free agent contract, decided in the second inning of a June baseball game to jeopardize generational wealth by colliding with the third baseman of the Orioles. Really ???

Now a Yankee, and a BIG one, gets hurt… I figured if Judge had any broken bones the Yankees would have said so immediately after his x-ray.

ben rice 1st major league hit ripping a single to right. base loaded none out
Happy for Rice, love that he didn't hold back his smile and how happy he was after getting his first MLB hit. Moments like that are MLB at it's best.

I don't think I've ever seen a player look more joyful getting his first hit than Ben Rice did. You'd have to be pretty dour to not have that make you smile with him. Love that enthusiasm. He almost looked like a lunatic he was grinning so big. I was happy for him. And the blondie that was jumping for joy made me happy, too. Mom: “Ben, not only did you get your first hit, your sister got a “movie” contract offer right after.”

One of the many advantages of having an NL team in NY was that I got to see many great NL players play in person, Mays was one of them. We got tickets to see the Mets play the Giants so we could see Mays and McCovey. To each their own, but I usually don't care to watch a MLB game on TV unless the Yankees are playing. But seeing a MLB game in person is totally different.

Was that a message pitch? In my opinion, the Yankees threw 2 message pitches.

I was dozing on the couch. I do enjoy Girardi in the booth. YIKES for Judge.
In my opinion, Cone and Girardi are an excellent team in the broadcast booth.

One of the sadder things to see was Mays as a Met swinging and falling down at the plate.

Have a great time tonight, fellas. The missus and I will be attending a play tonight at the Creede Reperatory Theatre. I spell it “reparatory” they spell it reperatory.
We’ll be attending a production of Young Frankenstein, which should be a hoot. You thought it, didn’t you? You thought it was going to be “Young Inger” at first, didn’t you? That would be a hoot, too…

In addition to playing field greatness Mickey and Willie shared the distinction of being banned from MLB because each took a job from a gaming outfit.

It’s at about 9500 ft. We’re sitting in a little grill right now waiting for our well-done food…
