Weak contact finding some holes and grass early. 2 on for Gunnar Henderson.

Change knee high, just outside middle, pulled through the 56 hole for a hit. 1st and 2nd, 1 out for Henderson, and Nestor is in trouble at 18 pitches with just one out in the 1st in the heat. FB outer third, thigh high, taken, 0-1

If the Yanks can steal this game they would have a good chance to take the series with Cole and Gil coming up. Be on Nester!

Overthrows the FB well above the outside corner, 1-1 Cutter outside above the waist, 2-1. Building up trouble, Nestor. Cutter in the zone low/away, hit high to medium deep left, almost got it, but Verdugo goes back and catches, Rutschman draws a throw, but holds. 2 down.

In an interesting note, MLB changed up the umpires for this series. I don't know who was originally scheduled, but they brought in a very inexperienced crew of Knight, Morales, Additon, and Ramos. I'm very surprised that this crew is doing this series and more surprised that they moved this crew to the series.

Ump being awfully stingy with the corners.

The Yankees caught a bad break with these 2 pen injuries as their best pitcher in AAA (Gomez), started on Sunday. Also, with the rotation woes in SWB, they may not want to move him. Baltimore is dealing with worse. No excuses.

Nestor flies open, misses high with a cutter. FB on the outside corner is a strike, Wells throws behind Rutschman, but Gleyber hurries the tag and doesn't catch it. Rutschman may have hurt himself sliding back in, spiked his nose in the infield dirt.

That's a pretty embarrassing way to get hurt.

Nestor taking a light warmup or two while the O's tend to Rutschman.

Slider below the knees, outer half, rolled over to LeMahieu at 3rd, he goes to Torres for the forcee, just ahead of Mountcastle sliding in. Inning over.
Bottom 1, 0-0 25 pitches for Nestor in the 1st, but he got through it without giving up a run.
