Not watching but sounds like the Os got our number this season. They adjusted to Gil, and game planned him, and as a 2 1/2 pitch pitcher at best, I'm not sure how he can counter.

Important game and Gil doesn't show up.. This isn't even a playoff game.. I don't think he will be able to handle the pressure.. Can't correct himself when he is in trouble.. If the Yanks don't score in the bottom of the second, I would call the game and go home. Wait for the Braves... Sorry for being so pessimistic...

Tonkin relieves Gil. Slider misses outside. Sinker into the zone up and away, popped foul behind first, Torres moves over, catches, runners hold, 2 down.

Well, we are catching up with the Orioles on hit batters. Despite what happened Tuesday to Judge and Torres, the Yanks are well ahead, hitting more O's than Yanks have been HBP. Hays... FB inside, 1-0 Swings over a slider going low on the outer half, 1-1 Slider outside, 2-1 FB up and in, fouled off, 2-2 Misses a slider that backed up inside, K, inning over. O's pound out a bunch of singles, a double and 1 HR, breaking it open with 6 in the second. Long way to go, but it doesn't look good, Yanks down 7-1, going bottom 2nd. Stanton, Verdugo and Torres for the Yanks in their 2nd.

The O's are a team that has been put together the right way. 7 of today's 9 offensive starters are Baltimore draft picks...none over 30.
When/if Holliday comes back up it'll be 8 of 9.

Stanton... Takes a FB on the corner inside, 0-1 Takes a curve outside, 1-1 FB to the low inside corner, 1-2 FB well high, taken, 2-2 FB inside fouled off Slider diving to the inner 3rd, waist high, jams him a bit and fouled it off. Sinker up and away, chases and fouls it FB in the zone well above middle at 91, and he plain misses it for the K.

Verdugo swings at the 1st pitch a Fb near middle, misses late and under, pops it to Mullins in left center, 2 down.

Only 6 more HRs needed. Of course celebrating an HR when it's7-1 doesn't make sense.. One HR an inning means we tie the game in the 8th, providing the Orioles don't score for the rest of the game... Not likely..

Friday's game with Braves is an Apple TV broadcast. Saturday's game on FOXSport . Looks like I won't be seeing much Yankees till Saturday.

Gleyber comes through today, when we really needed him last night. Better late than never.

Torres works the count to 1-2, gets a FB above and outside middle, goes wiith it to deep right, lands at the left end of the Porch for a solo HR, Yanks get 1 back, trail 7-1. Good sign for Gleyber at least, going to right with power.
