Well, we are catching up with the Orioles on hit batters. Despite what happened Tuesday to Judge and Torres, the Yanks are well ahead, hitting more O's than Yanks have been HBP. Hays... FB inside, 1-0 Swings over a slider going low on the outer half, 1-1 Slider outside, 2-1 FB up and in, fouled off, 2-2 Misses a slider that backed up inside, K, inning over. O's pound out a bunch of singles, a double and 1 HR, breaking it open with 6 in the second. Long way to go, but it doesn't look good, Yanks down 7-1, going bottom 2nd. Stanton, Verdugo and Torres for the Yanks in their 2nd. YES showed a graphic in the first game of the series that the Orioles were ahead 6-3. Did I not read the graphic correctly?

FB misses up and in 1-0 Curve near the corner inside, below the waist, taken 1-1 FB above the waist, inside corner, fouled, 1-2 Change misses low/away, 2-2 Slider inside hit to deep left but hooks foul FB above the zone outer 3rd, DJ goes with, grounds it hard past Mountcastle try to his right, 2 out single. Good to see for DJ.

Seeing the score… I’m going to run a few more errands before I go home… Will check intermittingly. Unless Yankees offense is firing on all cylinders, their goose is cooked.

Seeing the score… I’m going to run a few more errands before I go home… Take your time, this one is ugly. Yankees need a defining moment in their history to win this one.

Trevino... Curve low, 1-0 Change on the corner away, taken Curve on the back door in the same place as the change, lifted ot right, easy play for Santander, catches, inning over.
Yanks get one back, still down a ton, 7-1 O's, going top 3rd. Urias, then Henderson and Rutschman get their 3rd at bats in 3 innings.
22 pitches for Iorvin in the 2nd, 33 through 2.
Torres' 7th HR: 97.6 mph, 372 feet, 29° launch angle, a HR in just 3 of 30 MLB parks.

Henderson takes a sinker low over home, 1-0 Sinker on the corner away fouled, 1-1 FB misses low/away, 2-1 Backdoor slider hits the corner waist high, 2-2 Fb maybe missed just outside, Tonkin wanted it, but it was a ball. Sinker well outside, ball 4.

Rutschman... sinker on the corner away, 0-1 Slider way outside, 1-1 There's just one problem with that theory, Joe, what makes you think the O's are done scoring? Even if the Yanks score 6-7 runs today, what makes you think the O's won't score 12-15 runs? Sinker outside, lined over 3rd into the LF corner, bounces into the stands for a ground rule double, saving a run for the momemnt, because Henderson was running on the pitch. 2nd and 3rd, 1 down. Yanks pull the infield in to "protect" a 6 run deficit.

Slider backs up inside on Mountcastle, brushing him back, 1-0 FB down the middle, misses, fouls it. Slider outside, 2-1 Slider on the outer 3rd, fouled, 2-2 Slider misses low/away by plenty, 3-2 Slider misses well outside ball 4, and Tonkin might be running out of gas alrady Bases loaded, 1 down for O'Hearn.

1st pitch slider thigh high near middle, lifted to medium deep center, no chance to throw out Henderson, Judge tosses it into Volpe, holding Rutschman at 2nd. Run scores, 9-1 O's. 1st and 2nd, 2 down for Santander.

We need a walk, bloop, and a blast - three times and we've got this thing.

Fb on the outside corner above the knees, Santander goes after it, lifts it to Verdugo in left, inning over. Yanks lucky to get out of that with just 1 run. 8-1 O's going bottom 3. Yanks can't just "chip away". They'll need a 4-5 run inning of their own, BEFORE the O's can get Irvin out of there, to make a fight of this one. Tonkin probably done at 27 pitches. Kahnle was warming. Cabrera, then back to the top for Volpe and Soto.
