A lot was made about Gleyber not running out a slow ground ball, and It's understandable, he's been awful all year.
What went unmentioned however was Grisham, a horrible player, not running out a passed 3rd strike? Who the hell does this guy think he is ???
Also regarding Gleyber, Boone gave him a bye, because he is dealing with a minor groin injury. Why was he in the game? He hasnt helped when he's been healthy And why the hell is slow injured Gleyber getting thrown out by 5 feet trying to steal 2nd base yesterday on a Strikem em out throw him out rally killing Double play????

The Yanks just shuffling the deck with lousy relievers.

Volpe is the biggest reason the bullpen sucks. He doesn’t get on base and is just brutal to watch hit. Not sure what one has to do with the other.

The Yanks just shuffling the deck with lousy relievers. I'm guessing/hoping that Effross will be in the Yankees bullpen after the all star break.

Effross is an interesting guy and if he returns close to what he was before surgery he will help but I see him more as a 7th inning guy, maybe 8th in a pinch. FWIR, he's a sinker ball pitcher who doesn't throw particularly hard. He has a pretty good K/9 of 10.1 and doesn't walk batters. He also keeps the ball in the yard. He's had limited opportunities closing games and has 4 career saves but he has also blown 3 saves. I'd still like to see us get a hard thrower who can finish games and be insurance for an inconsistent Holmes.

I don't know if Effross will have the same success as Nelson, but his breaking pitch reminds me a lot of Jeff Nelson's breaking pitch.
Don't know for sure, but maybe the Yankees will also promote Jack Neely. From what I have been reading, Neely has swing and miss stuff.

The Yanks just shuffling the deck with lousy relievers. A lot of drawing straws lately. The "Magic Man" has worked hard through the minors for several years. He is clearly a more than capable A or AA level pitcher. He went to the Dominican Winter League last year to get some more work in and maybe hone his craft. His results weren't great at AA or AAA this season but he might be the best option left for now. I'm sure with Effross getting close to coming off the 60 Day DL, the Yankees took into consideration that they didn't want to elevate a prospect that they could lose if they needed to DFA him and they didn't want someone clogging a 40 man spot who wasn't ready yet.

I think Neely might be someone who they promote after the trade deadline, when the see what the roster looks like then. He isn't rule 5 eligible this winter, so if they promote him into a 40-man spot, they'll want him to come up and be able to make an impact. When I saw him at Hudson Valley, it was pretty clear that he was above that level of competition (which isn't surprising coming with Big 12 and Big Ten experience). His peripherals have all been good at Somerset and his first couple of outings in Scranton have been good. He keeps the ball in the park, he is a swing and miss guy, and his walk ratio is ok-ish. He's definitely not someone the Yankees would want to expose to designation if they need the roster spot. Maybe a good month at Scranton will convince the Yankees he can make an impact down the stretch.
