Two DPs in three innings. I hope we are not back to DP mode.

Slurve low, fouled off, 0-1 Good splitter diving in and down gets a swingover, 0-2 on Ozuna. He was here last time up, too. Yanks a slider well outside and low, 1-2 Shows sinker to the low outside cornr, but it's a slider diving out of the zone low/away, swing and a miss, K. 1 down.

Splitter to the outside corner, thigh high, fouled off, 0-1 on Olson. Bad cutter above and outside middle, Olson just misses, fouling it back and a bit to the left, 0-2 Slider stays on the inside corner below the waist, fouled off. Same splitter as the first pitch, maybe a bit higher, again fouled off. Overthrows the sinker way high, just to change eye level, 1-2 Cutter inside corner waist high, ties him up enough to get a grounder toward the 34 hole. Torres fields, wheels back, throws him out, 2 down.

Smoltz is such a putz. I just turned on the game, and he called right field a lay-up for hitters. Makes you wonder how shutouts and perfect games are even possible here. Nevertheless, Smoltz, you lost 1-0 to Andy Pettitte in 1996 in game 5 in Atlanta, and then Jimmy Key won the series in game 6, as Atlanta and Greg Maddox lost 3-2 in New York. Where were all the lay-ups, Smoltzy? Or, do they move the fences back when the opposition bats? Moron.

I guess Verdugo caught that ball in front of the short porch in left field… 🤓

Slider outside ball 1 on Riley. FB up and in, foul tipped, 1-1 Slider starts inside breaks to the corner below the waist, taken, 1-2 Splitter backs up to a bad spot, waist high, Middle-out, but Riley misses under, flies out to Verdugo in medium deep left center, inning over. Great job by Stroman that inning against the heart of the Braves' order, 1-2-3 on 14 pitches and 54 through 4.
Bottom 4, 3-1 Yanks. Stanton, Rice and Torres vs. Morton in the Yankee 4th.

According to Smoltz, there's a short porch in left field too. He has a short porch inside his head. 🧠…
