In the AL Central, the Guardians have won 4 in a row, opening up a sizable lead on the Twins and Royals. Cleveland is 48-26 on the season. The Twins went 3-3, good enough to pass the Royals into 2nd. They're 7 games over .500 and 7 1/2 out of 1st. Since forcing a blown save from Clay Holmes in the last game of the Yankees series in KC, the Royals have dropped 6 of 8, and are now just 6 games over .500, 1/2 game behind the Twins and 8 out of 1st. The Tigers continue to fade, losing 5 of 6 this week, dropping them to 6 games under, 6 behind KC, 6 1/2 behind Minnesota and 14 games out of 1st. The White Sox had a good week (for them) losing just 4 of 6, improving their season winning percentage by 6 pts. They're 36 games under .500, and are more games behind the Tigers than the Tigers are out of 1st. They're 29 games behind Cleveland nearing the halfway point of the season.

Looking at the trade, a hot Stanton is better than a hot JD Davis, but a cold JD Davis will be better than a cold Stanton. Davis can also play the infield corners as well as LF, so a touch of versatility…
Not a bad deal…

Sweeper misses outside by 3-4 inches, called a strike anyway, big break for Nestor there, 1-2
Cutter high, check swing, but the HP ump rings him up without checking with 1st, K, 1 down.

Arcia gets a FB above and outside middle, fouls it off.
Takes a FB low, 1-1
Change is bounced ove rhome and taken, 2-1
FB at the knees in the middle, fouled, 2-2
Cutter hangs well outside, 3-2
Cutter waist high, outer 3rd, Arcia hits a fliner to the right of center, Grisham is there, 2 down.

FB just outside middle, and Kelenic, barrels it, and hits it out to deep right center, Soto went back as if he thought he had a chance, but it carried for a HR just ot the right of the Yankees' pen. Nestor blinks first, 1-0 Braves, and I hope that HR isn't decisive.
