FB hits the high outside corner to Verdugo, not called. A break for Verdugo. Slider misses well high, 2-0 Curve breaks into the zone above and outside middle, 2-1 And backs it up with a FB just a bit further outside, getting a take because Verdugo thinks it's a curve going outside. Blows the FB by him up and in for the K. Wanna know how sharp Fried is today? He spotted both Judge and Verdugo a 2-0 lead in the count, and struck them out without getting so much as a hard hit foul off of him. Top 5, 1-0 Braves. 15 pitches for Fried in the 4th, and 52 through 4. Yanks better start choking up and fouling a bunch of pitches, or Fried's going at least 8 today.

Duvall, Laureano and Arcia for the Braves in the 5th.
In the NL East, the Phillies continued their slowdown, splitting 6 games and have now lost 6 out of 10. They're 48-26 on the season, and still have a decent lead in the division. The Yanks cooled the Braves off yesterday, but before that, they'd gotten in gear, winning 7 of 8. They're back to 10 games over .500 and are 7 games behind the Phillies. The Nats keep trying, but can't quite get over the .500 hump yet. 3-3 this week, they're 2 games under, 6 behind the Braves, and 13 out of first. The Mets came off a 7-game win streak by dropping 2 of their last 3. They're 3 games under, 1/2 game back of the Nats for 3rd, 6 1/2 back of the Braves and 14 1/2 out of 1st. The Marlins arose from the dead (had lost 12 of 14) and won 3 in a row, but were 3-3 on the week. They're still the worst team in the NL, but it's close now. 24 games under, 10 1/2 back of the 4th-place Mets and 25 games out of 1st.

Duvall... Swings over a cutter just inside, waist high, 0-1 Gets a FB on the inside corner, jams him just a bit, hits a lasy fly to Verdugo for the 1st out.

FB outside, ball 1 on Arcia Cutter at the top, not called, bad call, 50-50 on Gameday. Bad slider stays below the waist, inside middle, and is hammered into the corner in left, 1 hops to the wall, Verdugo plays the carom and holds Laureano at 3rd, a double for Arcia, and Nestor is in BIG trouble now.

Nestor falls behind 3-0 on Kelenic Takes a FB in the zone down and away, 3-1 Slider outside middle, is lifted to medium left center, Grisham sets for the catch, but tosses it back into the infield, permitting Laureano to score without a play, but holding Arcia at 2nd, 2-0 Braves.

A favorite of mine. I used to imitate his high-stepping when I was running as a little kid. I'd pay good money to see that now!
