Well, that didn't take long Mr. Trevino.

Flies open, misses up and away with a 91 FB. Sinker at the knees is a 50-50 strike, not called, 2-0 That's about the 4th or 5th good break on strike calls for the Yanks, and it hasn't helped them. Cutter low in the middle 3-0 FB at the top with some cutting action into the middle of the zone, taken, 3-1 Change above the waist, outside corner, DJ sees FB and is early and on top, rolls it to Riley, easy play, throws him out. 3-0 count leads to nothing. Flies open?

Trevino takes a sinker outside middle, low in the zone 0-1 Big slow curve inner half, rolled over to Arcia, scoops it up, throws him out. And the nifty 2 out single by Rice leads to zippo.
3-0 Braves, going top 6. 17 pitches for Fried in the 5th, 69 through 5. Olson, Riley and Murphy for the Braves in the 6th.

In the Central:
The Brewers had a weak week, going 3-4, dropping to 11 games over .500 at 44-33, and worst of all, giving St. Louis time to get back in the race. The Cards continued their strong play, going 4-2 and are 23-13 in their last 36 games. They've finally climbed over .500 by a game, and are now just 5 back of Milwaukee. The Pirates also went 4-2, climbing back into 3rd, 2 games under .500. They're 1 1/2 behind the Cards and 6 1/2 out of first. The Cubs went 4-3, and are now in 4th, 3 games under .500. The Cubbies are 1/2 game behind the Pirates, 2 behind the Cards, and 7 out of 1st. The Reds fell back into the cellar; they lost 4 of 6 last week and have dropped 7 of 11. At 4 games under, they're 1/2 game behind Chicago, 1 game behind Pittsburgh, 2 1/2 behind the Cards and even in last, they're just 7 1/2 games out of 1st. The Cards hold the 2nd Wild Card at the moment, and the Pirates, Cubs and Reds are just 1 1/2, 2, and 2 1/2 games behind the 3rd Wild Card, respectively.

This is what Fried does to even good teams when he's on his game Outstanding control of 7 pitches and almost twice as many variations on those pitches.

Fried 69 pitches after 5. With way he is pitching, and with the way the Yanks are hitting, could be a complete game shutout.

Murphy takes a FB on the outer 3rd, 1-0 Takes a slider outside, 1-1 Takes a FB low, 2-1 A low slide is called a strike anyway, Nestor gets a break on that one, 2-2 Somehow is late and under a low change, pops it to right, Soto comes in and catches, inning over.
Bottom 6, 3-0 Braves. 11 pitch 1-2-3 for Nestor in the 6th and 90 pitches total
Grisham, then back to the top for Volpe and Soto.

Fried throws nothing straight, everything moves. His FB and sinker both cut into righties. And he has the big curve And his changes speeds on the FB as Girardi said earlier, he can throw the FB anywhere from 91 to 97, it's he has 12 pitches instead of 7. If he has command he's very tough to deal with.
