It's just the Mets but they are playing better ball right now, so the Yanks need to be ready.

Big game tonight. Time to right the ship and show Soto how it feels to beat the Mets in their home.

remember when we ran out the same lineup everyday except catcher.
not sure what choices boone has here. believe the bench is ocab, rice, grisham and wells. one's the backup catcher. no one wants to see grisham. ocab eh. maybe you find a way to get rice but there's a lefty starter and they're lefty batter.

Cabrera is a switch hitter.. But I don't think Boone wanted to DH him...

I don’t mind Jones in the line up. He seems like a hitter to me… Now, Gleyber as high as he is… I don’t care for that…

Well, we won't have to face Diaz in the late innings. Did they ever say what he had on is hands? Looked like a lot of whatever it was.

The Mets come into this series having turned their season around in the last 3 weeks. On June 2nd, reliever Jake Diekman gave up a 2-run HR in the 9th in a game at Citfield, blowing a 4-3 lead, and sending the Mets to their 10th loss in 12 games. At that point, there were 24-35, mired deep in 4th place, 5 games below the 3rd Wild Card, and there were 6 teams between them and the Cards, who held that 3rd Wild Card as of that day. Since then, the Mets have caught fire, winning 13 of 17, and it's been the offense that's leading the charge. As of 6/2, the Mets were scoring 4.2 runs per game, their team batting average was .236, and their team OPS was .687. In the 17 games since then, the Mets are scoring 6.2 runs per game, are batting .288 as a team, and their team OPS is .854. The pitching is much improved as well, but not as much as the hitting. The team was allowing 4.9 runs per game before they got hot and have allowed just 3.8 russ per game in the last 17 games. The Mets are now just 2 games under .500, 1 1/2 behind the 3rd Wild Card held by the Padres, and just 2 teams in between them. So the Mets are coming in hot, while the Yanks, having suffered several key injuries, are having their first long stretch of poor play, losing 7 of 10, and looking very inept in several of the losses.
