Hopefully, Cole's mechanics (four walks) and inconsistent velocity were due to mechanics and not his elbow. I think it was mechanics. No sign of pain but plenty of facial expressions that indicated frustration with his performance… Hope you're right, Inger. I certainly don't want to be (that he's hurting again).

Mets' current high leverage reliever, Reed Garrett, in to face Judge, he's got a very good slider and splitter combo. Also throws sinker, cutter and a FB that's not well regarded. In face, he was FB heavy and it wasn't working, now he uses it as a eye level change basically.

This team is in trouble if it's the later. Even if it's not his elbow a Gerit Cole who can't strike people out when this team has like all contact pitchers isn't helpful either. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Mechanics - especially for someone like Cole - can be fixed by his next start. Cole Slaw is meticulously vigilant about his form, release point, bottom half-upper half sync, etc. If anyone can fix his own mechanics quickly, it's Gerrit Cole.

Judge takes a cutter outside middle at 93, 0-1 Takes a cutter starting at him and diving down...in the zone near the bottom, 0-2 Can't believe he gave him a FB near middle on 0-2!!! What a stupid pitch call!!!. Hits a high fly to deep right center, Bader calls, as if he thinks he has it, and it carries...carries...carries...into the bullpen for a grand slam!!!. Yanks make it a game, 9-7.

Gleyber flinches at a straight strike from a right-hander. Then, jogs down the first base line to end the eighth for the Yankees.

Torres takes his timeout to start the at bat. Takes a cutter in the zone, 0-1 Splitter to the corner away below the waist, rolls it over to Lindor, who throws him out, and Gleyber...was not exactly busting it down the line, as Kay noticed. Looks like he was hobbling a bit into 1st, maybe strained a hammy getting out of the box? Geez, they don't need that right now.
Bottom 8, 9-7 Mets.

I watched Gleyber running again, it seemed his was favoring the right leg a bit. I hope I'm wrong. Not a good thing when you have to hope he's not hustling, and not injured.

Kahnle in as the game is in play a bit now. FB is outside to Bader, 1-0 Chjange inside corner, 1-1 Slider above middle, grounded sharply to 3rd, DJ makes a good pick, throws him out, 1 down.
