I think they need to have real discussions on Gleyber and DJLM they are just killing the team right now.

Change low/away, slapped down 3rd, DJ has no play as he's well off the line, but DJ doesn't get over to it, and it rolls under his glove gets into left, goes for a cheap single and an E-5. Man on 2nd, 1 down. Well, that's one way to prevent Lindor stealing 2nd, but he CAN steal 3rd, I guess.

LeMahieu half-asses it, leading to a double. Never have I seen that in his career. Skip Bertman (LSU's legendary baseball coach) would not be happy.

Gleyber flinches at a straight strike from a right-hander. Then, jogs down the first base line to end the eighth for the Yankees. Gleyber not hustling...look for his days in pinstripes to be numbered. He's a pro...you're supposed to run hard every time you hit that ball. Very unprofessional on his part. I know he's frustrated with his numbers, but you can't show up your teammates because of your own personal frustrations, and that's what he did by not running hard. Of course, if he's injured, that's a different story, but I don't think he is.

Nimmo... FB misses inside at the top, 1-0 Swings over a change dropping below the knees in the middle, 1-1 Takes a change low on the inner half, 2-1 Didn't Nimmo already hit a HR on a bad change off of Cole? Change down and in, fouled back and to the left, out of play, 2-2

Give me the nine guys who are going to continue to compete, no matter what happened in your last at bat.

I think they need to have real discussions on Gleyber and DJLM they are just killing the team right now. and while they're at it, throw Treviño (and his pathetic throwing arm) into the conversation as well.

LeMahieu half-asses it, leading to a double. Never have I seen that in his career. Skip Bertman (LSU's legendary baseball coach) would not be happy. Especially can't happen after they just scored 5 to get back into the game. Change bounced, 2-2 Change outside spoiled FB waist high, outer 3rd, Nimmo set for the change and it gets right by him, swing and a miss, K. Glad Kahnles back to 94-5 for that one.

Martinez... Swings over a change well low, inside middle, 0-1 Takes a FB just outside middle, thigh high. If Martinez knows that's coming it's a RBI double to right center, 0-2 Bounces a change outside, good backhand block by Wells, no chance to get a swing. Needs to be over the plate not readably outside.

Good pick by Volpe and another by Rice! Keeps the Yankees within two!

Same change bounced outside again. Again, no chance to get a chase, 2-2 Change below middle grounded to Volpe's right, he backhands, sets and fires low, but Rice with the outstanding backhand scoops saves the out and ends the inning! Fine play, especially for a guy with so little experience at the position.
Top 9, 9-7 Mets, and Verdugo, Rice and LeMahieu for the Yanks, almost certainly against Garrett.
