"While he’s impressive as a pitcher — he can legitimately pitch from both right and left, according to Baseball America, it appears he’s even stronger behind the plate."

Hopefully they were the best two players on the board at that time. Our catching depth is thin but drafting for an area of need is stupid. I also don't think the Yankees are stupid so I don't think they'd do that

Yeah by the time they get "developed" you never know how your system is gonna look and you can always use them as trade chips if they're blocked at the big league level.

Post Options Post by chiyankee on 12 hours ago Yankees select Anthony Seigler, a catcher from Georgia who is also a switch hitter & pitcher. Re-read that. It's not 100% clear that he's a switch pitcher...but, yes...I ALWAYS work very hard, probably too hard. I think it's in my general nature. Maybe because we grew up so poor, I don't know... Anyway, it would be cool if he had a six-finger mitt, and switched hands according to the handedness of the batter or the pitcher...I hope he doesn't wind up like Venditte did...on another team...

I know you're a hard working man Inger. It's easy to tell. That's why I was breaking your balls about it. I wonder if they think of this kid as a catcher or pitcher or both. Everything I've read normally referred to him as a catcher
