That doesn't look like a first baseman's mitt. Okay, yes it is. Once I watched the video. I was talking about Stroman at second base, but I like Judge testing out first base. I need to see Rice turn on a couple balls and hit something with pop at this point. He’s settled in enough now to go after one here and there. He’s drawing some criticism as a first sacker from some posters now. Fair enough. Also unfair. He has so little experience there…I think for the level of experience, which was 35 MiLB games with 9 errors, he’s shown growth there… This is the time Mr. G would warn about gloom and doom, with his usual emoticon series:  |

Takes a slider low on the outer half, 2-0
Marcus Stroman hasn't been consistent at all lately, Flats.
Slider inside middle, Soto foul tips it.
FB in the zone outer 3rd above the waist, swung on and missed, 2-2
Takes his timeout.
Curve inside at the knees spoiled at his feet.
Curve almost in the same spot, maybe a bit low, starts but checks well in time, 3-2
Slider below and outside middle, rolled over to 1st, Guerrero fields and takes it to the bag, 2 down.

Judge gets a FB waist high off the plate inside, bounces it foul off 3rd.
Broke his bat, so he gets another one.
Swings over a change below the inner 3rd, 0-2
Bounces a change over the outside corner, Judge recognizes, lays off, 1-2
Slider bounced down and in, 2-2
Change tails low and away, 3-2
Chases a FB waist high about 4-5 inches inside for the K, inning over.
1-2-3 with 2 K's on 17 pitches for Kikucki in the 1st.
Bottom 1, 0-0.

Koochie Koochie Koo uses all 4 of his pitches in the 1st. It seems like the Yankees are a bit off recognizing his pitches out of the hand. It's nice that they got him to show all 4 pitches, but I'm not sure it's going to help.

Sinker outside, called strike 1 anyway, wasn't close, missed by at least 3 inches on Gameday, 0-1
Slurve way outside, 1-1
Sinker well outside 2-1
FB waist high, inside corner, fouled, 2-2
Slider misses outside 3-2
Slider well low/away ball 4. Bad start, Stroman behind the 8-ball immediately.

Where did all our first inning runs go?… Soto seems to be fishing a bit now. I don't know if he's trying to do too much or if he was frustrated with all of the walks. He's usually a very patient hitter, but I've seen him chase a lot of pitches out of the zone this week. Judge has been getting his HRs, but otherwise, he's not putting together great ABs. |

Takes a sinker below and outside middle, 0-1
Throw over on Bichette.
Sinker thigh high, outer 3rd, popped to foul off 1st, Davis goes over and in, but runs out of room, 0-2
2nd throw over. and now Bichette can run at will.
