Rice takes a sinker at the bottom of the zone, 0-1 Chases a curve dropping low on the outer half, 0-2 Curve well outside and low, taken 1-2 Another curve well low, but this stays inner half, and he turns on it and hits it hard down 1st, but Turner spears it with a lunge to his left, takes it to the bag, 1 down.

Boone should give Holmes the 8th since he hasn't pitched in a while. Oh, he can just wait for a save situation tomorrow, and watch him blow it because of command being way off. Little taken out, they bring a righty, Pop, to face Judge.

Holmes hasn't pitched since last Sunday, when in a low leverage situation against the Braves, he got them 1-2-3 with 2 K's.
Judge goes after a 1st pitch sinker just below middle middle, hits a hard fliner to right, but Springer takes a few steps toward the line and catches, 2 down.

100% effort on a ball in the gap that tipped off his glove. What were you expecting?… A rhetorical question? Was your question about my question also rhetorical?… 🤓

Verdugo... Sinker misses just inside above the knees, 1-0 Sinker misses inside, thigh-high, 2-0 Sinker on the outside corner waist-high, fouled off 2-1 Sinker well outside near the top of the zone, 3-1 Cutter into the top in the middle, late and under, pops to Varsho in short left, inning over. Forgot to mention, but with an outfield of Varsho, Keirmaier and Springer, the Jays have 3 outfielders who can legitimately play center, although Srpinger hasn't done so the last couple of years.
Bottom 8, 8-1 Jays. Varsho, Kirk and Clement for the Jays in the 8th.

Holmes has to be the most rested Yankee on the team.

Yanks following up a nice win with a very lackluster effort. Well, Soto would have driven in 10 if he had played today…

Holmes goes in to get some work.
Keirmaier fouls a sinker on the corner away, 0-1
Misses a sinker down and in, 0-2
Sinker bounced over the inner half, taken, 1-2
Slider inside, fouled
Sinker just outside middle, tapped just in front of home on the 1st base side, Trevino bounces out, fields, and throws him out.
They haven't said anything about Soto's hand, and if the news was very good, they'd let everyone know.

Katie Sharp @sharpstats17 · 8m Yankees have now allowed 100 runs in 13 games since June 15.
That's the most in MLB over that span. 2nd-most is 91 by the Rockies (also in 13 games).

Guerrero takes a sinker on the outer half at the knees, 0-1 Bad slider winds up near middle, his sharp grounder beat's DJ's dive to his left gets through to left for a RBI single, the throw is offline to the 3rd base side, Falefa scores, 9-1 Jays. Horwitz PH for Turner.
