Another loss. We root for a very bad baseball team with two really good players. Since watching the rest of the team has become not only frustrating, but also a boring waste of time, I wish someone would invent a Soto and Judge fan alarm, that would tell us when they come up to bat, so we can automatically set our TV sets to switch the channel back to YES for those 2 ABs.

And the sinker inside middle, instead of not having to be faced on a r-pitch walk, becomes as high pop to Falefa for out #2.

we probably were not gonna win this one, but the Bickford for Cousins move......... Nestor only gave up 3 runs, so it was still a winnable game until Bickford happened.

Grisham takes a sinker on the corner away, 0-1 Takes a sinker misses just low/away, called a strike anyway. BAd call, but at this point, it's Grisham and ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Sinker high, 1-2 Sinker tails outside waist high, Grisham chases and K's, game over.
Yanks blown out again, this time 9-3. Fall back to 21 games over .500 again at 53-32, have now lost 10 out of their last 13 games, and have fallen out of 1st completely for the first time since mid-April, pedning what the O's de this evening. They also guarantee they do not win a series for the 5th straight series. They're also now 11-14 vs. the other teams in the AL East.
No need to do the standings with none of the other teams' games over yet. Sox and Rays both look like they'll probably lose. and as for the O's, we'll see.
Series finale is 1:37pn tomorrow on YES, Gerrit Cole goes for the Yanks (Bullwinkle sez: THIS TIME FOR SURE!!!), looking to have a quality start for the 1st time in 3 tries, looking to get his pitch count into the 80's. Cole is 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA and looked awful his last start against the Mets, with velocity way down after the 1st inning. The 3rd Toronto pitching nemesis against the Yanks, Kevin Gausman, tries to win the series for Toronto. He almost always throws a good game against the Yanks when he's healthy. He's 6-6 on the season with a 4.26 ERA. The Guardians and the Red Sox have slapped him around a bit his last 3 starts, but both those lineups are much better than the Yankees' lineup right now, especially if they don't have Soto again.
OK, tomorrow's preview done, I go to check notifications, to see if I missed anything.

I'm Sorry but there has to be better options the Grisham, Cabrera, and DJL in the minors or walking the streets somewhere.
Grisham sux so bad ...it's painful to watch Cabrera gets a big hit twice a year and it resets his closck another season ... He sux !!!!!!!!! Dont be fooled by his mini hot streaks DJL is done ! His body gave away ... he's no longer a good fielder , in fact he's bad, and he cant hit!!!! It looks like he has a chronically bad back ... he cant twist turn or bend.

I would say trading for Rizzo and moving Voit was the first, but trading Sanchez and putting Trevino at catcher and Falefa came soon after. I considered that an attempt to upgrade defensively at first base (Voit was terrible) and most importantly get at least one left-handed hitter in the middle of the lineup. Or, just in the lineup. Those as well, but Rizzo's approach noticeably more versatile that Voit's. Especially the choiking up and spraying the ball with 2 strikes.

Almost forgot...if anyone cares...Wells' 3rd HR: 101.6 mph, 381 feet, 32° launch angle, a HR in 18 of 30 parks.
And notifications now checked and responded to, I go to get dinner for myself. Good evening to all of you; see you guys tomorrow afternoon. Bye.

we probably were not gonna win this one, but the Bickford for Cousins move......... Valid. Boone is flailing trying to find 2-3 more effective relievers than he currently, now that the clock has struck midnight on Sananta and Gonzalez, and maybe Ferguson as well. No doubt Bickford's meatballs put this one out of reach.

Another deep sigh of relief. Now we see if they feel comfortably playing him tomorrow. Probably not; they might want to give him 3 days off with the off-day on Monday. Too bad, they're sure to need him against Gausman.

Well, if I'm being totally honest, considering my preseason prediction, I'd have to say that the early season great play was as or more surprising than how this team is currently playing. Can't expect a couple guys to cary a team all year, particularly with the amount of dead wood on this roster.

We aren't gonna win many games that we don't score at least 6-7 runs. Nestor wasn't good, but the bullpen allowed them to blow it open...again. 6 runs in 3.2 innings. This might be the worst bullpen that I've suffered through as a fan. They are terrible...just terrible.

Not good. Excuse me for a bit, I am on duty to make pre-dinner Manhattans. Two ounces Michter's Single Barrel Rye, one ounce Carpano Antica Vermouth, a few dashes of Angostora Bitters. Luxardo Cherry garnish. I will soon be in a more charitable mood. A votre sante'! A positively brilliant idea and very possibly a solution to negotiate Yankee grief. Now speaking retroactively Rizz, I can confirm that the strategy was successful! BTW there is a once-popular cocktail called a Bronx which maybe I will concoct when the Yanks come back home. It's two ounces of gin, half ounce each of dry and sweet vermouth, an ounce of fresh-squeezed orange juice and a dash of orange bitters. Sounds like breakfast! Actually in the first "Thin Man" movie, William Powell demonstrates the different moves required in mixing a Martini, a Manhattan and a Bronx. When Nick Charles speaks, I listen!
