Taking a long time with this review. Call overturned.
If Rice was going on his own, it's a rookie mistake. If Boone sent him, it's a dumb manager mistake. Not just because it killed the rally. Not just because they took the bat out of their #5 hitter's hands, but also because it got Bassitt off the hook and into the clubhouse for treatment prematurely.

Don’t blame Rice. I think that was called from the bench… Absolutely. No way he'd do that on his own, plus Judge was on his way to 2B. It was a called double steal. |

Without Soto in the lineup, I would bet money the double steal came from the bench. I still think that Rice's one spike was on the bag just before the tag. Unbelievable that was overturned as close as it was. |
